Cranks but won't start

cranks fast or does not crank fast
it must crank to start so cranking is first see?
battery lugs ,rust free and tight? main bat.
no year car told. 1996 to 2012. (a3)
no engine told ,gas/petrol /diesel
engine stalled, (stalls have 50 causes)\
no cranks have 6. causes
not told what failed. (is starter motor silent) cranking/

100 is the MAF sensor. 343 is the cam sensor. It need s to put on a scanner. I read numbers. Maf could be it, not likely. most likely you need a timing set.

It could be the switch. But first pull the DRL (day time running lights) relay or fuse from the fuse panel. Check the lights again. If it still does it, replace the switch. If it works right, then you need to have the BCM (body control module) scanned to see what's wrong.

Float is off. Just try to put a full tank of gas in it and watch the gauge. Noone can siphone your tank BC there is a ball before the tank abling u not to siphoned.

Fuel pumps are real common to go out on those vehicles

I had the exact same problem. The check engine light would come on then go off. I didn't notice any drivabiltiy issues. End the end I had to replace the flapper motor, the high pressure fuel pump and the camshaft. They showed me the old parts and sure enough the camshaft lobe was worn down and the cam follower that actuates the fuel pump was in pieces. Needless to say it was very expensive. It's been a problem posted on many Audi sites. I went ahead and had the timing belt changed. Now she's as good as new.

HI. IF THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WITH A SCAN THAN THE ONLY THING THATS LEFT IS THE FUEL. AND I WOULD TAKE IT TO A PRIVTE GUY WITH SCAN TOOL. JIMBO

you have to pull on it upwards. its held in by rubber grommets.
