Do an Internet search for kits that replace the air ride suspension, they are available from several suppliers I think. You can't just put in regular shocks as the car would set on the ground.

My rear air sespension has gone bad on my 1998 navigator and I can not afford a new air sespension since they quoted me over $1900 to fix. Can I just put regular shocks on the rear to fix the horrible sag?

Yes you can, But even better yet would be a set of air shocks on there. I had a 92 Grand Marquis that blew out the rear suspension, and I put reg shocks on there, worked great, looked normal, No problem. They wanted $2,000 to fix mine. I said later. But the air shocks, if you have a full load or a sagging problem, you can just get out the compressor and blow them up. Hope this helps.

When to change suspension springs chevrolet venture

if the vehicle is sagging or bottoming out on bumps and potholes it's time to replace springs. if vehicle bounces and has excessive sway then the shocks (struts) are bad.

Breaking problem in rain...car pulls to the right . Had it in to dealer says cannot duplicte the problem...pulls so bad it's scary

Usually if a car pulls to one side, the brakes are experiencing bind up. Have a shop check your brake hoses on the front. A weak hose can cause the car to pull. If you havent already, consider having the front brakes serviced, new pads and turn the rotors, Apx $100 for most, heavy duty applications could run $200. If your air ride system is defective this could play in also. Strutmasters sells a replacement coil-over shock replacement for the air-ride systems and at $500 they are an excellent alternative to costly air-ride repairs...very expensive. The Strutmasters system is all 4 shocks, coils and hardware to install.

Rear air ride system is not working , seems there are no aftermarket non air ride shocks available , suggest alternative non air ride shock for this year ?

I hate to break the news to you but there are not any available. If the car needs shocks you have to get the air ride one from a dealer parts department.

The good news is....the shocks are probably not your problem...there are valves and sensors, as well as tubing and a pump...any of which could be the problem.

Air shocks not working on rear of my expedition

Your right, could be a fuse, but it might also be the air ride linkage thats connected to the air ride motor broken or fallen off either the motor itself or fallen/broken off the rear axle. go to the rear underside of the truck and inspect this area to see if the linkage is still intacked. it could also be a worn/bad air pump.

Auto ride on 2000 Yukon XL needs replacing.

Hey,

The air pump in located in the very back-left (driver's) side, underneath.
You know the shocks can "look" quit bad and still be okay.
Everything about this system is expensive (to me).
There is also a height sensor that can go bad and keep the air-pump from running.

I recommand an expert on this system.

Your GM Dealer is your best bet for parts.
Just my opinion.

Good Luck

Change front shock for load leveling system

first if you have and air ride system you first have to turn the air ride system off there is a switch on the passenager side under the glove box near the panel just infront of the door disconnect the battery and then support the car and then loose the nut on the top and then the air supply line and the bolt on the bottom and then remove the shock and if you do not have air ride system you have struts it best to replace the whole strut with springs it is a whole lot safer doing this way.go to napa or auto zone and they will down load pictures for you
