Is this a points distributor
place the timing mark at the desired position before tdc compression stroke ( normally around 10 degrees )
se the points to correct gap
turn on the ignition and move the distributor body against direction of rotation until the points just open ( noise or spark across points
tighten the distributor at this position
replace cap and it will start
alight when used will show the timing to be almost at that setting
if pointless distributor
set the timing mark as described and the set the apex of the exciter at the mark on the small pickup in the distributor
That again will be the timing mark setting
if it is an efi engine
the ecm unit will determine the timing of the engine from the crank position sensor

SOURCE: starter stays engaged or blows a fuse when I try to start my skid steer

This could be the starter or the ignition switch, Take the starter out and have it tested. IF the starter tests ok, replace the ignition switch.

Had some body work done on my Lexus GX470 and when I got it back it was riding on the frame. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the height sensors. 24 miles later, the BRAKE, ABS, Both VSC lights...

sounds like you need a couple more sensors. Abs light/brake may be on due to abs wheel sensor. VSC would be a steering angle sensor. skid control has its own sensor. I assume your accident also involved the wheel or wheels (some type of impact or hard jarring). The sensors arent cheap and they are easy to fix, they need to step up and do the right thing

My tahoe has the traction off light what doe that mean?

It means the traction control system has been disabled. It can be done manually by pressing the switch on the dash or by an onboard computer (meaning there is a problem). If you can't press the button to get the light off, then get it scanned. Traction control system works with the anti-lock braking system and the engine to help the driver control the vehicle in the event it should be slipping or skidding. It will activate the anti-lock brakes, help reduce steering pressure to better steer and can sometimes cut out engine cylinders to reduce the power going to the wheels to better control in the skid.

What is lockup

Most vehicles are two wheel drive (2WD) and some are four wheel drive (4WD). All have differential gearing this means that each wheel can turn at it's own speed and this is essential when cornering as the inner wheels traverse a shorter path than the outer wheels. Without it the outside tyres would all tend to skid to some extent as they try to rotate on a surface which is moving faster or slower than the tyre's rotation speed. This is known as lock up and it causes excessive tyre wear, fuel consumption, steerring and suspension component wear and an unpleasant snatchy ride.

On off-road surfaces, lock up (differential lock) is a good thing as any tyre which loses traction does not cause the others to do so. As the surface is slippery or unstable the other tyres can easily skid against the surface without excessive wear whilst cornering.

Pulsing sound and feel from wheels

Ok, if the wheel bearing assembly was installed incorrectly the wheel would wobble and you would have a disconcerting feeling in the steering wheel. The rotors have to be within factory specs to be turned safely. What I would do is have the rotors checked with a micrometer and replaced.
