Its on the side of the block firewall side ... REMOVAL Numbers in text in parenthesis correspond to numbered components in image. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor pigtail. Securely attach a scrap piece of wire about 36 inches long to the CKP sensor pigtail. Later, this piece will be used as a pull wire to guide the new sensor pigtail back through the same routing. Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter and capture any lost engine oil in a container. Loosen the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Back out the fittings far enough in order to gain sufficient clearance for the sensor pigtail connector to pass between the oil cooler lines and the side of the engine block. Remove the fastening bolt for the CKP sensor (1). Remove the CKP sensor and the O-ring seal from the engine block. Remove the CKP sensor pigtail. Observe the routing of the pigtail. Gently pull the CKP sensor pigtail down through the routing path and out. Guide the pigtail connector along the top of the oil cooler lines around to the side of the engine block. Pass the connector between the lines and the block at the point of the widest gap. Stop when the pull wire is exposed at both ends of the routing path. Disconnect the sensor from the pull wire. INSTALLATION Securely attach the CKP sensor pigtail to the lower end of the pull wire. Pass the pigtail connector between the oil cooler lines and the engine block. Using the pull wire as a guide, pull the sensor pigtail along the top of the oil cooler lines and around to the rear of the engine. Use the pull wire to pull the pigtail into position. Disconnect the pull wire from the sensor pigtail. Connect the sensor pigtail to the harness connector. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the CKP sensor and the engine block. Install the CKP sensor with a new O-ring seal into the engine block. Install the fastening bolt (1) for the CKP sensor. Check the harness for proper routing. Make sure that the wiring cannot come in contact with the exhaust manifold. Tighten the oil cooler lines at the engine block. Install the oil filter. Lower the vehicle. Recheck the engine oil level.

2001 crankshaft sensor changed now car want start

If the store pulled the codes and it had a code for the crank sensor, the real problem could be a bad cam sensor or a problem with the crankshaft. The crank sensor "sees" a mark or magnet on the crank and sends a signal to the computer. The computer takes that signal and compares it to the cam sensor to start the engine then runs off of one or the other. It sounds like the computer is not seeing the two signals match up.

Where are the crankshaft sensors on a 2001 cadillac deville sedan?

The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is a three wire sensor based on the magneto resistive principle. A magneto resistive sensor uses two magnetic pickups between a permanent magnet. As an element such as a reluctor wheel passes the magnets the resulting change in the magnetic field is used by the sensor electronics to produce a digital output pulse. This system uses two sensors within the same housing for the V6 engine, and two separate sensors for the V8 engine. The PCM supplies each sensor a 12-volt reference, low reference, and a signal circuit. The signal circuit returns a digital ON/OFF pulse 24 times per crankshaft revolution.
Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the air deflector.
  3. Remove the oil filter adaptor.
  4. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the crankshaft sensor retaining bolt.
  6. Remove the crankshaft sensor.

To install:

NOTE Inspect the crankshaft sensor O-ring for wear or damage. If a problem is found, replace the O-ring.
  1. Lubricate the crankshaft sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
NOTE Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  2. Install the crankshaft sensor and the retaining bolt. Tighten the retaining bolt between 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
  3. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.
  4. Install the oil filter adaptor.
  5. Install the air deflector.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Operate the engine and inspect crankshaft sensor for engine oil leaks.
  8. Perform the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure.
Hope helps.

I have Hyundia accent 2001 with the code po335 what i need to do.

That is the code for faulty connection to, or bad Crankshaft position sensor. Not 100% sure of exact location but should be near flywheel, or at front near crankshaft.
