Car went into limp mode, did diagnostics on it, showed that the transmission shift solinoid had gone bad, we replaced the solinoid, but it still in limp mode. Help, how do we get it out of limp mode?

4 cyl. Auto trans. in limp mode. takin the shift solenoid out to re build it i fnd ripped wires. My question may seem should i re connect the first or cont with the shift solenoi

Unfortunately, you should have gotten the diagnostic codes for the transmission before messing with the shift solenoid. Most of those dodge shift issues are caused by input and output speed sensors.

My car is stuck in limp in mode I have replaced speed sensor and I'm getting p 0700 it's a 02 stratus I was told if I have the codes reset that the car should shift correctly

Incorrect information the code is because of a system malfunction and that is what is causing the shift problem. Resetting the code does nothing. Your code is transmission control circuit malfunction.

2000 chrysler cirrus comes up with 7oo code. Tranny won't shift from first gear.

Chrysler/Dodge,transmission computer's lock it into "Limp Mode", when it detects any transmisson problems. It will need scanned at a transmission repair garage Because the scanner diagnostic tool they use looks into transmission functions and errors, much deeper than a all purpose scanner tool. .Possibly an "Input" , "Output" speed sensor" or a bad solinoid pack. ( all 3 are external transmission parts.. These are very common to go bad and much cheaper than a complete, tranny rebuild.. But many rip off, tranny garages tell people that the transmission needs a complete rebuild.($1500. to $1800.) Watch out for this. It is possible that it needs rebuilt, but an honest tranny mechanic will let you know, either way.

Intrepid won't shift out of first gear, codes 0700, 0740, 0605

Your car most likely has gone into what is commonly called "limp in mode" The codes are transmission codes and you'll need to have it checked out and repaired. Something very common to Intrepids are the vehicle speed sensors going bad. If one or both go bad it will go into limp in mode and not shift properly. There is an input and an output speed sensor on these transmissions. Normally we would just change both because they are relatively inexpensive and easy to change. Hope that helps, gl.

Limp mode on chrysler grand voyager 3.3 le auto. can still drive but not above 50mph,how do i fix or can i

If it's in limp mode, the check engine light is on steady, or blinking, or a combination of the two. You need to have trouble codes read, most parts stores offer this as a free service. They will plug a hand held scan tool into the vans diagnostic port under the dash, and 'read' codes stored in the computer. They can explain what they mean, and make recommendations on what to do to fix it. If you have any questions after that, post them here with the code #'s.

Transmission locked up, felt like it was stuck in second or third gear. not shifting. shut engine off and restarted , shifting properly now. what causes this.

It was a temporary fault that put the car into limp mode (a safeguard operating condition designed to protect the transmission in case of serious failure). Sometimes a transient fault can occur, and the car goes into limp mode just to be sure it's not for real. Shutting off and restarting the car is the usual way to clear the fault and return the car to normal operation - if the problem was real, the car would've stayed in limp mode after restart, or gone into limp once you started driving again. I wouldn't sweat this one, since it went right back to normal operation.

Limp in mode

Your shift control computer is getting a bad sensor value. So either a shift control sensor has gone bad, or there is a problem with your transmission. Either take it to a mechanic or buy a scan tool so you can find out the exact nature of the problem if you're going to attempt to fix this yourself.
