2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport had the fuse for the lighters blew repetedly from dvd player power inverter, now even with new fuse none of the lighters work. Is there a secondary fuse?

Check the rest of the fuses. Most of the time, the audio cuircut is divided or supported by two fueses,. Not nessesaraly marked as radio, so look all of them., If avalible use a test light , W/ key in the on Postison, .

No its not normal and yes that could drain the battery. I would think the light around the ignition key lock would be on too. Probably a courtesy light problem - there is a timer somewhere that turns those lights off after you close the doors. If it is just the light for the lighter you could cut that wire.
I think this happened to my 03 montero sport. The problem was the cigarette lighter(it is on the same fuse as the ignition). It wasnt connected correctly and was shorting out the fuse. Since i dont smoke, I simply disconnected the cigarette lighter completely.
I had the same problem. The fuse for the accessory plugs are not in the fuse box above the drivers feet it is in the group of fuses just above it. The owners manual describes it as location #16. It is a 15v fuse.
