Issue on overheating deatailed above. It is due to the fans not engaging because it only overheats when the car is idling for prolonged periods, when it is hot. You can pull the hot off with the heater running but that just makes everyone have a great time in the car.
Blown fuse, bad relay or ect (engine coolant temp) sensor
You need to have an active fan test run by the dealer. Chances are the fan control relay is defective or the connector is burned.
The coolant temp sensor may need to be replaced. Cars usually have two of them, one for the gauge (or warning light) on the dash and one for the car's ECU (computer).
I would check the wiring to the fan before replacing parts though. Usually when the car's ECU detects a problem with the temp sensor it will default to the fail-safe mode, which keeps the fans running all the time. It would also be wise to make sure the cooling system is working properly also (water pump, thermostat, no clogs, etc.).
