Fan Control The PCM monitors certain parameters (such as engine coolant temperature, vehicle speed, A/C on/off status, A/C pressure) to determine engine cooling fan needs.
For variable speed electric fan(s):
The PCM controls the fan speed and operation using a duty cycle output on the fan control variable (FCV) circuit. The fan controller (located at or integral to the engine cooling fan assembly) receives the FCV command and operates the cooling fan at the speed requested (by varying the power applied to the fan motor).

For relay controlled fans:
The PCM controls the fan operation through the fan control (FC) (single speed fan applications), low fan control (LFC), medium fan control (MFC), and/or high fan control (HFC) outputs. Some applications will have the xFC circuit wired to 2 separate relays.
For 3-speed fans, although the PCM output circuits are called low, medium, and high fan control (FC), cooling fan speed is controlled by a combination of these outputs. Refer to the following table.
If you don't understand these thing's listed above your best bet is to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !

Condensor fan not coming on with ac

You are aware the fan only comes on when the system pressure reaches a preset point. So the point is it may not run for a few minutes.

Ac fan does not come on when ac is on

A mechanic would jumper the fan relay to make sure the fan will run. And he would check for voltage at the relay and a ground signal from the computer. The fan should come on when the ac pressure reaches 200psi.

Were is the AC expansion Valve on a 2001 Taurus Vin Code C 3.0 ?

The taurus does not have an expansion valves, the have orifice tubes. They are in the small line(called liquid line) goin from condensor to evaporator core. Some are servicable, most are made into the line.

When ac compressor engauges you can notice strain on engine . Shortly after that a line came off condenser with a loud bang. The line that broke goes from compressor to condensor. Now compressor is noisy....

The head pressure got too high on the ac system, when you have the ac compressor replaced, and it`s components, make sure the condenser is flushed out good, and that the cooling fans are working with the ac,they need to come on with the ac,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Need to replace ac condensor on 1999 taurus how do you do it

If your AC system is empty...The condenser is in front of the radiator.
1. Use ramps or jacks or a lift to raise the car so you can work under it.
2. remove the splash guard under the radiator.
3. Remove the bolts holding the tranmission cooling lines. These also may also hold the bottom of the condenser on the AC line side. Move the cooling lines away from the AC lines.
4. Remove the nuts holding the AC lines to the condenser. You may have to hold the fittings with a vise wrench to prevent bending the pipes.
5. Remove the other lower condenser bolt and use the access holes to remove the top bolts holding the condenser.
6. Lower the condenser out.
Reverse procedure to install the new condenser.

If you have the correct tools, this is a fairly easy job.

Cooling Fans coming on shortly after starting cold vehicle Ford Winstar 2001

climate control units in most cars use the ac system to regulate temp in the cab. the ac system requires a fan to pull air over the condensor on the front of the car. its normal for a fan to come on. unless you have a bad engine temp sending unit thats causing the engine cooling fan to come on improperly. try turning off the heat and ac and see if it still comes on.

Radiator fan does not come on and condensor fan does not come on but i can here a clicking sound near the fans

Those are the fan relays trying to turn the fans on. Make sure your fan fuses are good, and then make sure you have power going to the fans themselves. Use a test light, you just want to see if theres power at the fan connector, if there is, your fans are bad, if there isnt, look for a bad wire. Be careful not to overheat the engine.
