Hi have an Audi A3 TDI 2008 the cam / timing belt has broke and I'm looking for timings, can't find any instructions on the internet that look the same, any ideas?

You can purchase manuals for Audi's from Bently Publications. They come on a CD and are loaded onto your PC. However, if the timing belt has broken, there is a good chance that the valves have hit the pistons in one or more cylinders as Audi's have interference engines. This will probably have done serious damage to the engine.

Timing OK?

You did it the right way. If you tried to make a full cam revolution you would have hit the pistons with the valves. Put the lower timing cover and crank pulley back on. If the cam marks are aligned right and the mark on the lower timing cover lines up with the mark on the crank pulley, you're good to go.

My Audi 80 can't start after changing the timing belt, water pump and the cam belt, wht is the problem?

The valve timing must be out. You will need to verify that the timing marks on your camshaft sprocket(s) are set at the correct position when you rotate the engine to the compression stroke on TDC.

Is Audi guide belt or cam belt related to the sump

Timing belt needs to be replaced every 100000 km at the most . Do you know when it was replaced last ?
Did they remove the front pulley (The one on the crankshaft)?
The Timing belt and AUX belts are not related to the sump but they are related to the crankshaft pulley , Depending on the type of repair carried out they may have removed the pulley in order to replace the crankshaft front oil seal.If I was replacing a crankshaft oilseal due to oil leaking I would have fitted a new Timing belt as well as Tensioner , Idler/s , Water pump (if driven by timing belt) as well as the AUX belts as Oil can damage rubber .
Hope this makes sense to you ?
Looking forward to your reply

I am replacing a cam chain and need to know the settings and best way to do it

The 1.8T is very common in the US. We don't have any diesels here in the A4, but the 1.8T is all over the place.

What exactly do you need to know? You were posting it in the title to your question but it got cut off and I don't know exactly what you're looking for in terms of info for changing the cam chain. If you mean the timing belt, that's a belt, not a chain. I thought that the 1.8T drove both cams off of the belt, unlike the 2.8, where only the exhaust cams are belt-driven by the timing belt, and the intake cams drive off their respective exhaust cams via a chain and tensioner assembly. If you can clarify this, we can proceed.
