Does it leak coolant? Did you add coolant? Fans will not come on until 225 degrees. More info.

SOURCE: i change the transmision fluid for my accent 2002

Absolutely *do not* use Mercon III. Use only SPIII fluid in your transmission. It's available at Chrysler/Dodge, Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi dealers. It'll be expensive, but nowhere near as expensive as the required transmission repairs that may result from using the wrong fluid.

What coolant do i put into my 03 Pontiac Grand Prix?

What color is the old coolant ? Your vehicle came with Dex-Cool an you don't want to mix it with any other type . Can cause major problems , plugging up the heater core , water passages in the engine , radiator etc.... You would need to power flush the cooling system before using someother types . The Dex-cool is orange .

2003 F250 5.4 AT stalls when put in reverse. The trans fluid is low and I have been told different things about what fluid to use. Please help

Try a local "Jiffy Lube" as they should know correct type and keep your receipt if you use them as they should have warranty/guarantee as well.

Whats normally wrong when you get no heat on a 2000 Pontiac grand am v6 3400

Thermostat stuck open , heater core plugged ! Have you had the cooling system flushed ? Does your coolant look like a muddy color instead of dex-cool orange , you haven't mix green coolant with dex-cool - GM coolant , that would clog the cooling system up .

I have a Pontiac Grand Am 2003 I opened up the hood and realized it had green antifreeze in it I got the anti freeze flushed out and put dex cool in it. Now its a milky subatanc in the oil I got a oil...

You are leaking water into the oil. You should also find that you are having to add water to the coolant. If you are lucky, this will be a head gasket problem. Could be that the head bolts are loose. Even if this is the issue the leaking gases have most likely damaged the gasket.

What type of powers steering fluid should i buy for a 1990 grand marquis?

Transmission Fluid---Dex/Merc

Do not use power steering fluids, found in the parts store, or any product, for any application with a sealer.

NO SEALERS

Use what your vehicle was designed for

You should flush your P/S Fluid every 3 years
That alone will not correct a problem

I had just replace the thermostat on my 2003 Pontiac it still over heating what can be the problem what can i do to fix this issue .. ??

youve replaced the thermustat in your car

your car may be air locked

remove the cap for the coolent bottle and let the car run for a bit you should get bubbling and a boiling sound comming from the bottle

worning: hot liquid dont stand too close while the bubling is going on wate till it stops then shut off the car

(keep a close eye on the temp gadge while the car is running after the air has bubbled out if thecoolent is low replace with the rite coolent

with any pontiac/chev vehicle its usually "DEX-COOL" its usually orange in color (dont put in the green stuff youll ruen your moter) if it calls for the other coolent (the green stuff) put that in and not the orange stuff

i hope this helps you i hope you get your car fixed

What kind of coolant does a pontiac grand am 2003 take?

I found out the hard way -this is soooo important. It is imperative that you use the orange dexcool. it is designed to withstand certain temperature. If not used properly - it could start a domino effect thats very costly. T.M.I One time i let my boyfriend check my oil- simple enough right? like most people do, the water level was checked as well. he filled reserve w/ plain water all the way to the top ( instead of where coolant level line is) The results were over heating (plus found out later after melted heads) that the threads to reserve cap were stripped. which is what lead to lake of pressure in coolant line.

2003 Pontiac Montana antifreeze smell?

Bad News. I recently had the same type of smell ( no leaks or puddles either) coming from my van and had to have the intake manifold gasket replaced due to the Dex-cool issue. It appears GM installed an inadequate/substandard gasket when they built the van. My van only had 65,000 miles on it. There's a Dex-cool settlement you could have applied for but repairs had to be made by May of 2008.

This is the only real complaint I've had with the van.
