Air bag Light Stuck On 98 Pontiac Montana

You probably ran over a plastic bag that stuck to the hot exhaust and started to burn under the vehicle. The air currents under the vehicle swirled the bag off the pavement. I see a number of plastic bags fluttering under vehicles while driving on the freeway.

Like any vehicle problem, the car has to be
tested using the codes that may be present

If you have an air bag light on, the system has a fault
& your driving with no air bag turned on to protect you

2 simple fixes for airbag light are a poor connection under either front seat, or a blown fuse.

No different than any other OBD2 Malfunction Indicator Light
you get on your dash

My answer is pretty much the same,as we get hundreds of
these same check light questions every day

You can't work on your own car anymore, so it really doesn't
matter why or what the light is for,it still has to go in & be
diagnosed & resolved

That said, if the question is why or what with is wrong with the
srs or safety restraint system (air bag) don't know.

Has to be diagnosed by a repair shop with a professional scan
tool A code reader is of no value,so forget all the going to the
auto parts store advice for something free

you can not disable an air bag light it is tied into all powers of the instrument cluster. you can remove the cluster and see if you can take the bulb out. if it has one.

This light means that the air bag will not deploy in an accident. Air bags should only be worked on by a certified tech.

First check the code it may need to be programed

Batt/air bag light? 2 problems. air bag light check and clean wiring under passenger seat. Then drivers seat. Battery light I have no idea unless battery volts to low.

sounds like a fuse went out have u checked ur fuses
