Short to power. Could be as easy as just pulling a fuse and reinsert it. Sometimes you have to access the plug and do they same thing. Sometimes you have to fix or replace the plug. If your display is the radio, It could be internal radio problems..

You will want the factory service manual for the vehicle. You can contact your bmw dealer directly. If you would like I can try and locate one for you.

SOURCE: Sporatic problem with Stereo and Stereo Display

I have had this problem intermittently since I purchased the vehicle in 2004... the dealer could not fix but showed me that there is a relay that you can pull and re-install. It's under the hood and must be done with the ignition and lights off. Pull the relay, wait 10 secs and re-install and pblm goes away. If you are standing in front of the vehicle there is a relay box on your right/vehicle left. The relay is located in the lower left-had corner of this box. Not a permanent fix, and in my experience the problem goes away when the vehicle is parked for an hour or so but if you have a long drive and want to use the radio, this 60-second fix is worth knowing...

SOURCE: headlights don`t work

Sounds like a bum relay in the main underhood fuse box. My complete illustrated tutorial for repairing this $80.00 part is here: http://www.customsaab.com/Custom_Saab_NG900_OG9-3_Performance_Articles/p2_articleid/24

SOURCE: Return to idle

Sounds like your throttle is sticking, try looking under the hood for a cable that come out of the firewall. WD40

2009 Bmw lci radio display problem in hot weather

Replace it, there is thermal defect present on the main board or the display board. You have to remove the radio, disassemble and use a heat gun and freeze mist to find the part.

I have a 1994 BMW I havethe code for the radio but I can't unlock

I recently had my starter motor replaced. When I got in to drive my car the radio was showing "CODE" I have the code for my radio serial number (if you don't then you will need to get the serial number from the back of your radio unit and call your local BMW dealer, they have a database that they can look up for the correct code). Nothing was working and the unit kept beeping at me! I was trying everything and nothing was working. I since found out that the unit had "locked" me out! I rang the dealership, they said to leave the car in ignition with the radio on for exactly 1 hour (this resets it) then put in the code. Voila! It worked!

Radio Screen has went blank radio plays but cannot change

hi gloria_garre, indications are very similar to what one would experience when the electrical portion of the ignition switch starts to fail. Most of the powered accessories such as the radio, mid, cluster displays etc are directly powered from the electrical portion of the ignition switch. In my experience at the dealer, I have had to replace a few switches, one being on my own parents 2002 530i. I would recommend having it checked, and also make sure your charging system is working to specifications.
