Try squinting some good lubricant in the lock with the key and wiggling it around. Also lube the latch mechanism itself. Do not twist the key too hard because it can bend and/or break.

SOURCE: lock out code
I've heard of people using Delco Lock Codes (http://www.delcolockcodes.com) to get their radios unlocked. They seems like a legit site from what I've read. Good luck!!

I had to reinstall the loose mounting hardware for the trunk upper latch.
SOURCE: Inside trunk release won't open
1. Open trunk
2. Place latch in lock position
3. Pull inside trunk release to see what isn't moving
4. If trunk key won't turn, the key may be worn out and need to be replaced
SOURCE: 2006 Chevy Aveo trunk opener won't open
I have the same problem with 06 Aveo the trunk door has broke on me three times the dealership told me the lever that opens it breaks well i had them fix it the first time cost me $100 then the second time they wanted me to pay $500 to install a whole new thing my husband glued it back together that lasted a little while then a friend looked at it and there is a little green piece that the bar goes into that is the part that breaks but sometimes they just don't assemble it right and thats what it was in my case so check that green piece and trade the pos in thats what I plan to do with mine the airbags malfunction two months after i get them fixed every time my advice never buy an Aveo!
yes that could be the problem. try this putt your key in to the lock and turn it to unlock it , check to see if latch is open ,while still holding the key in the unlock position close the trunk and relock it with the key while pushing down on the hood at the same time. replace the lock when you can .there is no quick fix for this unless u use a bungee cord for it .
