I have an 88 dodge shadow turbo with a five speed. the car will fall on its face at 5500rpm coming out of first gear. and its rpm range gets lover with each gear. the fuel pressure rises when it fall on its face. the car never dies just falls then picks back up and will fall again unless you keep it under the that rpm. then it is fine. what could be the problem?

1991 ford mustang

Start by checking for vacuum leaks, compression then a scan for fault codes. One of those should turn up a problem

I am having trouble starting my 1991 ford mustang lx 4 cyl 3.2 l when it dose start it runs really ruff and when i put it in gear and press on the gas pedal it does not accelerate but acts like it is not...

I would check the timing could have jumped a tooth on the timing belt/chain. Also check the rotor in the distributer make sure that it is not worn out. I have also seen a plugged catletic converter cause big time power loss and really strange problems

Rough idle

What about the coil packs? Do you have a check engine light on? If so take it to an auto parts store and see if they will scan your vehicle for the codes.

I have a 1989 ford e150 5.0L. have to hold pedal to floor for it to start and it runs ruff and coughs when its running sometimes stalls when driving but will run great at times. oh and idles high and low...

I had an 88 that did something like that, it would idle up and down it seemed to be worse when the engine was cold. It turned out to be the MAP sensor, I never did get a check engine light. A friend of mine had the same truck and we swaped sensors back and forth until we found the problem.
