Battery - 9 - Care Of The Battery On The Car

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Chevrolet service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

It would have to be a short somewhere in the wiring.
The pump gets power from the A.I.R. relay. The pump circuit is from a 30amp fuse that gets power from a 175amp main battery circuit.
But the relay magnet is powered by a 10amp fuse from the ignition switch, and it is grounded by the computer to turn the relay on.
Do I understand you to say pulling the relay or the 30amp AIR fuse will not kill the pump ?

The problemis usually related to a EVAP problem. Such as a Vaccuum leak,bad EGR valve.The most common problem for these trucks is the EVAP canister in the rear of the truck or the vac lines going to or from it also the EGR valve gets clogged or stuck. If you get the truck scanned it should give a code then you will know where to look.

check the FUSEABLE LINKS AT THE STARTER
on the big stud you will have about 3 wires they are the( FUSEABLE LINKS) plus the main battery cable
check thoses 3 wires they are most likely the problem
to check them SLIGHTLY PULL ON THE WIRE it will most likely streach and pull apart or there will be BLACK plastic juntions that the wire goes into pull the wire from there
to repair cut the wire pass the BLACK juntions
get NEW FUSEABLE LINK WIRE
USE ONLY HEAT SHRINK **** CONNECTORS tape the wire together
reconnect the 3 wire to the starter

Yes advanced auto or autozone can reset this light with a scan tool for nothing. You can also do this yourself if you disconnect the battery cables for 5 minutes then reconnect them start your vehicle and let it idle with everything off including the radio and fan blower. Let it idle for 2 to 3 minutes to reset the computer. Provided there are no fault with your car the light will be off and stay off. If not then there is a problem and you would have to have it checked once again with the light on. I hope this helps. Don.t forget to rate my answer, thanks.

Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes and then reconnect, I recently had the same problem and thought the control head had gone bad, for some reason I had to take the battery off and when I reconnected it all was back to normal. If not you need to read the codes with a scanner.
