How to troubleshoot central locking.

I have an Evo6 and the central locking has stopped working. The key fob operates the alarm/immobiliser as the indicators flash, but will not operate the central locking. I have to open the doors with the key one at a time as the key in the door also does not operate the central locking, I have checked all fuses, replaced the drivers door actuator and checked the plugs are secure on the receiver under the drivers seat. I have also replaced the fob battery. How can I carry on troubleshooting this. Many thanks.

I greased all the mechanism while I had the door actuator removed, but even using the key, the other doors don't lock, only the drivers door.

Wondering if the door lock mechanisms needs greasing
like some form of resistance to movement may put the power locking out of kilter ..

My 2007 golf immobiliser will not deactivate the alarm with the key fob, i have re coded it still nothing, removed the fuse and its fine. central locking also doesnt work. all factory fitted stuff.

its a 2007 model and as such can have the key fob reset with dealer diagnostic software ,wouldnt have thought removing a fuse would de-actrivate the factory immobilisor though

My central locking on renault megane not working from fob and cant turn immobiliser off.

sounds like its time for a new fob, try useing the key to unlock the door this should shut down alarm, if its the key fob chip your talking about then hope you have a spare if not, depending on the year may need to reprogram a new key fob.

1999 Audi A3 1.8T Electric Windows and Central Locking Won't work

will your passenger door open with the key and is it just one side that your windows are not working or both. if its just one side it might be your regulator motor in the door thats not working if its both it might be your central locking pump usually in the boot. however if both of them are working fine it could be that your key needs reprogrammed however i think the 1st 2 are more likely to be the problem.

Imobiliser problem

If im not mistaken, your car should have an alarm reset/override.Below the steering column,on the dash should be a slot where you put your remote transmitter to deactivate the alarm. If that works, you then need to have your remote checked and coded by a vw dealer.Good luck.

I have a bmw 316ti compact on a 52 reg. The central locking gave up working 3mths ago and we was useing the key to lock and unlock the car, then all ov a sudden we couldnt start the car.when you put the...

with any BMW they have their problems, one is the central locking/immobilizer, the central locking is linked into the immobilizer and vice versa, the immobilizer takes it signal to disarm from the central locking and the ignition key ring. (chip in the key) if one of these starts to play up it has loads of consequences this being one of them. they all need to work together for the system to work properly. you would need to read the alarm and immobiliser codes using an ob2 tool that can detect them, and find the fault some problems it can be the drivers door sensor in the lock this is the main door as its drivers side and it controls all other doors on the central locking. if the switch is worn in any of it movements the system will not know the door has been opened, this does not work on the interior light as that is a switch in the door frame. the door lock is lock unlock and deadlock with key with remote fob its also arm disarm alarm and immobiliser. i have seen in some models there is a sensor auto lock so when you walk away with the key the doors lock automatically all lease parts work together. any one having a problem can cause no signal to be sent to the others in the system to start engine .
