Is the cabin air filter the same air filter that removes the dust and pollen from the air entering the engine or is there two separate filters in my car?

There are 2 seperate filters in the car, one that clean the air the engine is fed, and one that cleans the air that comes into the the cabin. The one for the cabin is usually hidden somewhere behind the glove box. The surefire way to find it usually is to find the blower assembly for the heater and fan and all that is also usually located behind the glove box, if you find that then the filter is either inside the whole assembly or you have a slot or port or whatever on the ducts near the blower that contains the pollen filter for the cabin.

Jbiondo1388: No, the cabin air filter is it. There are no other sources to filter the air as it enters the car.

How to remove cabin filter in the plenum behind the glove box

Our research indicates that your vehicle does not have a cabin air filter (also known as a pollen or AC filter). Vehicles without cabin air filters typically have a plastic mesh that prevents leaves and other foreign objects from entering the HVAC system. This mesh is part of the vehicle and does not need to be changed.

Where is dust and pollen filter located 04 civic

The cabin air filters are located in a box that is part of the blower motor housing.

To access them, you will need to get behind the glove compartment. Open the glove box and you will see the stops/supports on each side of the door. They are held in by clips, so push from the outside inward and pop them loose. At this point, the glove box door will open fully and dump its contents on the floor.

Now, look behind the door, you will see the blower housing. On the front of the housing is a plastic cover. Remove the cover and you will see two tabs. Pull the left tab to remove the first filter and its carrier. Slide the tab on the right to the left and remove the second filter. Remove each old filter from its carrier and replace them with the new filters.

Reverse the process to put everythig back together. Clean up all that stuff on the floor. ;)

Tranny Filter

A lot of auto parts come in the form of a filter which is designed to remove impurities and foreign objects from a stream of gas or liquid. A typical car employs an oil filter, a transmission filter, a fuel filter, and an air filter. However, there is yet another type of filter which is least common to car owners. The cabin air filter, also referred to as the passenger compartment filter, the pollen filter, the dust filter, or the interior ventilation filter is inherent in vehicles manufactured in the 80s. More and more vehicles are now equipped with cabin air filters, but what exactly is a cabin air filter? The cabin air filter is tasked to eliminate almost all of the airborne elements that come with the air that enters the passenger compartment. It is guaranteed to enhance the quality of the air that goes around the passengers area. The cabin air filter is attached under the dashboard, behind the glove compartment or in the engine chamber. Your factory cabin air filter may be worn and torn with use and time, which is why an aftermarket Chevymag-glass_10x10.gif cabin air filter replacement is manufactured. The Chevy cabin air filter replacement is designed to ideally replace your factory cabin air filter which is created to top the performance of your old one. The Chevy cabin air filter replacement is ideal to use because it helps purify the air and remove particles that might cause the passengers allergic reactions. It is highly beneficial not only to the car occupants, but also of the car driver so that he will not get distracted from controlling the maneuvers of the vehicle operation.
