SOURCE: cam timing

Firstly with this engine being identified as an interference engine, I will not accept any responsibility if your engine gets damaged. You are free to take or leave this advice and the responsibility will be entirely yours.

Engine codes: D2H, D6A, D6B, D6D, DDZ, DKZ, DFZ.
Covering years 1989 to 1997.

  • Turn the crankshaft in a clockwise direction to about 10.00 o'clock on the mark on the camshaft sprocket. Good tip here, apply tippex to the sprocket mark.
  • Now slowly continue to turn the crankshaft and with the timing pin feel for the locating hole behind the camshaft sprocket.
  • You will find the camshaft location hole at about 8.00 o'clock.
  • When you have located the the locating hole behind the camshaft sprocket, insert the timing pin.
  • Now insert the timing pin in the crankshaft pulley.
  • You will find the crankshaft pulley location hole behind the sprocket at about 10.30 o'clock.
  • When both timing pins are in their locating holes, the top and bottom of the engine is in-line.
  • This information is only to set the engine up and not to change the timing belt.
  • I would advise that on these engines you change the timing belts at 60,000 miles or every 3 years which ever comes first. If for any reason the timing belt gets contaminated, change the timing belt.
Take care.

SOURCE: please, send me electrical diagram for peugeot 405 (2004)

Goto Amazon.co.uk

Search 'books' for Peugeot 405 (you will find the Haynes Manual). Make sure you choose the right one for your Year & type (Petrol/Diesel) = the wiring diagrams are in the back. Cost is about £20.

You can also borrow the Manual from your local Library for free ..

SOURCE: Peugeot 405 1993 diesel estate

the alarm control unit is fitted under the drivers seat can be accessed from the rear foot well by putting seat fully forward .unscrew the two nuts holding the cover the relays are inside the unit.

this unit interfaces will tell the fuel stop solenoid to release (by applying 12 volts)

the fuel stop solinoid is on the main diesel pump under the bonnet - the exac location on the pump will depend on the make - but it should be cylindrical and have one wire connected to it - (i dont think peugeot were using multi wired coded soleniods in 93)

obivously if your car has the keypad immobilser you will know where this is - if it is the remote alarm immobilser the reciever is in the over head consol near the interior front light

SOURCE: 1993 K reg Peugeot 405 rear brake compensator

the one on my 405 is in a bad stat. what i can tell you is there should be a spring attaching the arm to the trailing arm, these rot away for a passtime they cant be replaced, having spoke to a main dealer yesterday (17 june 2009) the sum of £98 would get a new one. unfortunately i cant provide you with a picture as mine covered in cack. try a main dealer they might let you look at there parts book.

Hi i have a peugeot partner 1400cc petrol with an aglpg system fitted.. when i stop at the lights or anytime i stop the vehicle cuts out.have u any ideas what it can be

if you running it on gas then without a doubt its the valve in the gas supply line ,if you undo the cover a bit and let more air in it will idle but this is dangerous as such so best advice here is to find the agent and let them change the valve for you
