How can i fix a p0522 code that is read by my engine light? Can i reset it and forget it? Or is it dangerous?

What the P0522 code means. The oil pressure sensor sends a message to the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), which gets transmitted in the form of a voltage reading. A vehicle will store P0522 when that message tells the PCM that the sensor is indicating too low of an oil pressure value.

The crank position sensor or its connection is probably at fault. The engine needs the signal that the crank postion sensor provides to inject fuel and supply spark at the correct time.

Unhook the negative side of the battery for 15 minutes and it will forget the code and relearn all parameters. It'll run and shift a little funky until it relearns. If your radio has a factory code lock, be sure to write that down before you unhook the battery or the radio won't work.

p0440-Evaporator Emissions Control Malfunction. P0522- Engine Oil pressure low. Replace the Gas cap and double check your engine oil level to make sure your not low. Reset the computer and see if the codes return. If your oil level is good when you check it you may have a problem with your oil pump.

I'm assuming you checked the obvious...and no blue smoke.

Was that from an OBD error code reading?
P0522-ENGINE OIL PRESSURE TOO LOW 3.7L, 4.7L

Could be you ran engine low on oil or went up (down?) incline to trip the low pressure sensor.

and or Viscosity of oil is too thin, in either case get oil changed pronto, reset OBD and check levels often. hopefully was a costly mistake ...yet.

Your sensor could be damaged. Keep an eye on engine temp and coolant. pressure test cooling system if possible.
