main caps 85 ftlbs (3divdedsetings30ftlbs all 50 ftlbs all ending at85ftlbs click, rocaps 45ftlbs, head bolts 85ftlbs workingfrom cdenter top ,center botom ,top center working clock wizeand out ,intake boltes45ftlbs again fromcenter working outleft side, right side,left, right 8 bolts one time only or u will distort gasket. oilpan from center alternate L side ,R side,clock wize25ftlbsclick recheck after breakin period valve covers 25ftlbs anrecheck flywheel 90ftlbs ,harmnic balancer bolt 75ftlbs, add oil!!!!run for 15 minutes drain oil &change filter run for 100miles for molly rings 10 mmiles for cast rings .let engine cool down retorque headbolts,replace valve covers .run it and get on it!!! good luck hve fun.

The bolts that attach the flywheel to the engine should be torqued to 51 to 55 foot pounds.

call local engine shop or ford dealer as somone gives you the wrong spec and by by bolts

torque is 72 N·m (7.3 kgf-m, 52.8 ft-lb)

pull the transmission. remove the torque converter (automatics) or clutch and pressure plate (standards), the bolts for the flywheel are under that. make sure you replace the flywheel with the proper one especially if it's a standard.

sounds like torque convertor went out!!!!

Step 1: Lightly oil cylinder bolt threads & washers
Step 2: Torque to 22 Ft/Lbs
Step 3: Torque to 51 Ft/Lbs
Step 4: Loosen all bolts 180 degrees
Step 5: Loosen all bolts 180 degrees
Step 6: Torque bolts 1 & 2 to 25 Ft/Lbs
Step 7: Torque bolts 3, 4, 5, 6 to 11 Ft/Lbs
Step 8: Turn all bolts an additional 80 to 90 degrees
Step 9: Turn all bolts an additional 80 to 90 degrees
*** CAUTION ***
engine uses Torque To Yield head bolts (TTY) that
permanently stretch during the initial installation.
New head bolts must be used when cylinder head is
replaced or re-installed to obtain proper Torque.
