Leaking windscreen gasket. Leaking side windows. Leaking rear window or door gasket. Had any glass changed-out lately? It sounds like the leak I once got in my Porsche 944. It was a cheap windshield installation...quite a bargain price, I shoulda guessed....
orIs the water coming from above the floor(front or side windows)(is the puddle big) or from underneath the floor(slowly spreads)? I think you have a lot of water coming in from a leaky window gasket, most probably in the front window.
does it smell like antifreeze if so its the heater core i just replaced mine, also check your water pump in front behind belt pully's while running it should be dripping.
First I would check and see if its leaking for the front window.take a water hose and spray water around the seal of the window and see if it leaks. If it don't then I would take do the same test around door seal and the passanger side window.
Taste the water and if it is sweet it is coolant leaking from the heater core. If it does not taste sweet it is a leak somewhere else. What you suspect is very possible. Start by making sure the drain hose is clear an not clogged. Then check the window gasket. A water hose left running on the window slightly will tell you where the leak is coming from.
