SOURCE: thermostat

Follow the bottom hose around the back of the engine and over to the passenger side. This hose ends up almost directly behind the front/top hose (where the thermostat should be...but that would be too easy). Unbolt 3 bolts holding the housing on, pop off the housing, and the thermostat should just pop right out.

Find the big hose that comes out of the top of the radiator and follow it to the engine and that is where the thermostat is located. My advice is to be sure to get a factory thermostat and rubber gasket as it makes installation much easier. I have done it both ways and the factory one is easier to install.

Location of throttle control motor relay

Replace the coolant thermostat. The code is different on a Nissan and actually refers to a thermostat fault. Replace the thermostat and clear the codes, you're fixed

Code1126 says thorttle relay i dont know where it is, but i also think that that is the sensor it self.

Here is what P1126 means. The Throttle Control Motor Relay is defective. Now, you have a normal throttle and not an electronic one so I would recheck the code as it is probably the throttle position switch since

Whats the timing for the nissan sr20 motor in my 96 serena van.. cheers weetbix

GA16DE and SR20DE Engines

1. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
2. Run the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes and return to idle.
3. Turn the engine OFF and disconnect the throttle position sensor harness connector.
4. Start the engine and race the engine to 2000 rpm, 3 times.
5. Connect a timing light to the No. 1 spark plug wire and battery.
6. Loosen the distributor hold-down bolt and adjust the ignition timing to 10 degrees BTDC for the GA16DE and 15 degrees for the SR20DE engines.
7. Turn the engine OFF and reconnect the throttle position sensor harness.
