Could be any thing to with ignition. Coil/s or module (Heat related). Could be clogging catalytic converters.
One of your components is failing when it gets hot! After it cools it works again. There are many things that can cause this, I will list a few....clogged air filter, bad connections at the battery, fuel system problems. Ignition coil(s) On my car it was the cam sensor. faulty coolant temp. sensor, faulty intake air temp sensor.
I would say overheating problem. Check for water or liquid level in cooler tank. It may be that ventilator is dead.

honestly, I've not seen an alfa romeo here in the philippines but i think you problem is partly electrical and the electronic side of the car. something on your car is heating up so much that it cuts the power to the ignition once it has. it is a possibility that a damaged ignition coil or a faulty computer box(if your car has one) or the control system that regulates the spark distribution system or the injectors(if your car is fuel injected type).

This has been happening to my car as well. It typically happens when your oxygen sensors start to wear out. Mine does it once in a while and I have the local auto store reset it. Go to your nearest auto store and have them tell you what code it is and ask them to reset the OBD so the light goes out. If the light comes on right away and the code has to do with your oxygen sensors, have them replaced. There are three, two are easy to replace, one takes some effort as it is in a tough to get to spot. The dealer will charge you a fortune to replace them so do it yourself or through a local mechanic. It is a very simple task other then the access.

Cat. converter probably pluged. Mine did same today. Mechanic who tow my car said likely cause. I can hear fuel pump running, recent change fuel filter will check fuel pressure. But I will try emissionwiz fit too.
