There are typically 3 to 4 lag screws or bolts on them. If you are leaking that bad it is shot, no question there, getting a replacement will show you where they are located on the tank. save yourself a headache and make sure it has the pump and ant level sensors already installed, then when you unplug the connectors clean them with BLACK sandpaper and treat with dielectric grease (the small "buck a pack" ) convenience packs at the counter of the local auto parts store will suffice. If you bought a used tank make sure you clean the connectors on it as well. When you are done, take apart the old tank, save the pump(s) and any sensors as spares. AND if you are really handy with a high wattage soldering iron with a broad head or a wood burner, you MAY be able to melt the broken tank back together, or fill in missing plastic with donor plastic from a heavy food grade plastic bottle. And let me tell you, This (plastic welding) is a majorly useful skill, and is actually the principle that hot glue works under.

Want to empty screenwash bottle how?

Unfortunately the washer reservoirs are not equipped with drains, you have to suck the fluid out or run the washer until it is drained. IF what you put in is not washer fluid or water then DONT run it through the pump. Since you didn\'t say what you put in, I\'m left to assume it really shouldn\'t be in there. Get yourself an antifreeze tester and a suitable length of hose to reach the bottom of the reservoir (or sacrifice a turkey baster) and suck out the fluid. Now for the hard part - you\'ll have to wash out the remains. If the bad stuff is water soluble (antifreeze is), pour some warm soapy water in and run it through the pump. If the stuff is not water soluble (like power steering fluid) then you\'ll be best to replace the plastic bottle. If the stuff hasn\'t gone through the pump, it can be transferred to the replacement bottle.

How do i check fluid for convertable top

"How do I get the air out of my hydraulic system"?
  • Remove the reservoir plug on the motor pump. Leave the plug out and do not put back until you have finished.
  • Fill the reservoir 3/4 full with fluid (to the bottom of filler plug hole). Put a rag under the hole to catch overflow that will occur as system fills.
  • Run the pump for 15-20 seconds. Stop. Check your fluid level and refill to bottom of filler hole. Continue running the motor in the same direction for an additional 15-20 seconds. When the top gets to the end of cycle, check your fluid level, fill to bottom of filler hole, and run the motor in the opposite direction.
  • You are literally running the top all the way up and down sereral times. Checking the fluid level as you go and fill as required, leaving reservoir 25% empty.
  • When you are no longer able to add fluid, put the top in the down position. Check the fluid level one last time, should be to bottom of filler hole. Put the plug into reservoir.

How to change the fluid of the power steering ?

    Open the engine hood.

There will be several fluid reservoirs under the bonnet. If the car / truck has power steering, one of them will hold about 150-300ml of fluid that should be a red color. If you put some on your hand it is very slippery.

The other reservoirs will hold water for the windscreen washer, and one connected to the radiator to hold coolant.

Check that the reservoir you intend to put the power steering fliud in is not connected to the radiator and does not contain water.

Take the cap off to check.

If you can't see in to the bottom, roll up some kitchen paper towel and feed that in until you get some fluid on it - red, you hope!

There will be marks (horizontal lines) on the side of the reservoir showing "Min" (minimum) and "Max" (maximum or full). Slowly pour in replavcement fliud until the tiop of the fluid is between the marks.. Put the cap back on, close the engine hood, drive for a short distance (2 km?) and check the levels again.

Top up the reservoir to just under "Max". Replace the cap.

Check the level after a short period of normal driving - a couple of weeks, If it is still going down a mechanic needs to check the power steering seals.

    good luck.

I just wanted to know where to pour the antifreeze in a 1196 toyota camry. I know I should pour it in the radiator or something but I'm not sure where that is?

Hi, coolant goes into the reservoir pictured below. There is a different reservoir for the windshield washer fluid. There is also a much smaller reservoir for the brake fulid. That one is in the right rear of the engine compartment, just in front of the driver. Be careful not to put coolant in the brake or washer fluid reservoir. Thanks for using FixYa.

Replacing hose that connects washer fluid reservoir

If youre able to, try accessing it from the bottom. It will be held down by screws, most likely 10mm sockets.

I put wind shield washer fluid were the anti freeze should be how can i get that out?

Have you started up the car after that happened? If you did, do not worry about it, it has mixed in. If you have not started it up yet you can take the hose off the bottom of the reservoir and let it drain, or you can get a water hose and flush it out. It will be ok if you leave it in, no more than put in will not effect in any negative way.
