You have a bad sensor somewhere, sometimes it will not affect the car.have your mechanic check it out,or pep boyz they will check it for free.then you will know if you need to see your srevice center or not.

What does the dash board red lights mean

On the X-Type dash display,

Located above the message center are two lamps, red for warning and amber for caution. When a message is displayed, the appropriate lamp will illuminate to attract the driver's attention and to signify the importance of the message.

I have a 2002 jaguar vanden plas. The amber engine light stays light. The car performs fine with no other messages. I have hand a tune up at 38,000 miles at the local jaguar dealership. The car only...

The red light is for warning the amber is for caution so your caution light is on thats the amber the amber is reserved for local market like brake pads, oil change,or abs that affects steering stability, The information is exclusive only your driver handbook will define it

Trying to locate where the check engine light is located the bulb is missing and we need to replace but can't locate where it is

use a flashlight and shine it on the dashboard instement panel at an angle.. it is going to be an amber (orange/yellow) color .

You will be required to remove the dash board instrement panel anyways to change the bulb... It will be easier to locate when the panel has been removed from the dash... as then you can shine the light into the back side of the instrement panel and see the amber lense of the service engine light more readily.

Engine block amber light

sounds like your check engine light is on. On 99ish 3 series the check engine light was an amber engine in the instrument cluster. I thought 5 series actually said service engine soon. If you cycle your key the bulb check should illuminate all lights. see if you have a light that says service engine soon, if not, the amber engine, is the check engine light.

Warning light

Usualy the check engine light reports a malfuction in your engine performance system, it coulb be a misfire, bad sensors, vaccum leak, you need to have your engine code read from a garage or an auto parts store that offers the service for free.

Jeep 95 warning lights ?

The gentleman above gave you the correct starting point. There are red and amber lights. Amber usually indicates a problem with the engine electronics or emissions system. Red lights are related to charging or alternator problems and engine overheating. If a light comes on you need to check the related system before you wind up disabled on the side of the highway.
