Transmission fluid is burning through exhaust. Part store says there is no Modulator Valve on the transmission. Any ideas on how fluid is making it to the exhaust ??

My Ford had a modulator valve that malfunctioned and it caused the transmission oil to be burnt and smoked through the exhaust. Once the modulator valve was change I had no problem. Am not sure if your car has one.
I believe that I would take it back to the shop that replaced the modulator valve immediately. It sounds like they either left something loose, or didn't get a seal or gasket properly replaced. You definately run the risk of burning the trans up with it leaking that bad.
Your transmission is failing. Your clutches are burnt. Your check engine light should be on by now. By now you should be experiencing rough gear shifts amongst other things.
ENGINE SMOKES BLUE THE ENGINE BURNING OIL DUE TO WORN PISTON RINGS , WORN VALVE GUIDES AND SEAL./ ENGINE SMOKE BLACK ENGINE GETTING RICH FUEL MIXTURE CAUSED BY DIRTY AIR FILTER, WEAK IGNITION SPARK, FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR OR LEAKING FUEL INJECTOR, EVAP CANISTER GAS SOAKED./ ENGINE SMOKING WHITE ENGINE BURNING ANTIFREEZE DUE LEAKING INTAKE GASKET OR BLOWN HEAD GASKET. IF ENGINE HAS A LIGHT WHITE BLUE SMOKE ENGINE BURNING TRANSMISSION FLUID DUE TO A RUPTURE VACUUM MODULATOR DIAPHRAM ON TRANSMISSION.
You didn't state the color of smoke. The color of smoke has different meaning or causes.
Black smoke is burning oil.
Blue smoke is usually transmission fluid due to a leaking modulator valve in the older auto transmission.
White smoke is due to water getting in to a cylinder from a bad gasket, cracked block or a cracked head.
on the lower part of the transmission on the radiator is a vacuum modulator that probably has a bad diaphram. If you locate it take the hose off and see if trans fluid comes out. if so replace the vacuum modulator. You will still see smoke for awhile until cleans out of the exhaust.
There is a vacuum line that is connected to a vacuum modulator on the transmission. The vacuum modulator looks like a tiny inline fuel filter on the right rear of the transmission. Remove the vacuum line from the modulator, if transmission fluid spills out when the rubber hose is removed the modulator is punctured. The engine will **** your transmission fluid through the vacuum line and into the intake system and burn it through combustion. If the modulator is punctured you must have it replaced.
Gerald:Was the engine overhauled because of the smoking problem? If so, the auto trans solution is more likely your problem. Good Luck
Automatic transmission? - Check vacuum line to transmission . The only line of rubber going to trans. Located where it attaches ro trans and rwmove it watching to see if it contains any trans fluid. If hose has oil in itm Then replace the valve it was attached to. The valve is called a transmission modulator. The diaphragm is rupture and aloowing engine vacuum to **** and burn the fluid. your trans should be needing fluid too often. Modulator around 12.00 last known.
Manual transmission ? - PCVvalve not bafflrd against drawing oil from its location in valve cover.and or Pcv valve is defective. Cheap fix-replace
