I have a 2004 chevy venture. The power locks do

I have a 2004 chevy venture. The power locks do not work. I can unlock it, but not lock it. Any ideas what the problem is and how much it will cost to fix? My friend's dad owns a body shop. He replaced the computer, but that didn't fix the problem.

on the passenger side there is a wire harness under the carpet. there is a kick plate that pulls off. pull it off and pull back the carpet it is most likly soaked. mine was (welcome to winters) take the tape off the harness you will find a 2 white together and come out as a single wire and it will be taped. This is the unlock wires for the power locks if unlock is woking leave it alone. there is also 2 blue wires that are the same as the white wires in the same harness these are the wires that control the locking. take the tape off and if the wires are all coroded off strip the wire and slid some sealant shrink wrap over one of the wires solder the wires together and shrink wrap the wires then retape the harness and put everything away .. just finished this about an hour ago .. ton of fun to find the solution

If the remote key fob locks and unlocks the doors then the problem is more than likely the power lock switches, this is a common problem on the Venture Van.

2000 chevy venture. key fob refuses to reset. I have read and tried the re-programing set up. Held lock / unlock 7 seconds as my owner manual states, tried new batteries and still the lock button wont...

The button is not working. It's programmed if the other functions (buttons) work. What you can do is take it apart, clean the rubber part (the buttons) with soap and warm water. Then, use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean the circuit board where the back of the buttons contact the board.

Have a 2004 Chevy Venture van with faulty power door locks. They will lock with the switch but will not unlock with the switch. Need schematics of the power door lock system. Thanks.

I don't have a solution, but a related problem. Our 2004 Chevy Venture power door locks are cycling (locking/unlocking) on their own while we are driving. This coincides with our remote keyless entry losing its effectiveness. I tried replacing the battery on the remote, but to no avail.

It sounds like you've got a broken wire on the drivers side door. Usually this occurs at the flex point of the wiring harness. Peel back the outer covering carefully exposing the wires inside. Repair any broken or those about to break. Solder & retape or shrink rap with heat gun.Hope this helps. Good luck!

Power door lock on the chevy venture 2000 don't

check the system fuse and or circuit breaker. check the switch wires for damage and loose connections. check the switches for continuity. remove the door panel(s) and check the actuator wiring connections to see if they're loose or damaged. inspect the actuator rods if equipped to make sure they arn't bent or damaged or loose connections. the actuator can ce momentarily. a discernible click indicates that the solenoid is operating properly.
