My 2007 Kia Sportage hatchback won't open the glass door will but the actual trunk won't, I can hear the mechanical part Trying, is there any way I can fix it? Brake light died, thank you!

Read manual. It should direct you to location where you can manualy unlock hatch. Look for little trap door. It should be located very near lock. Hope this would help
Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.
Can you hear the motor working inside the tailgate for the central locking when you press the eky fob lock / unlock button? if you can then the motor is fine and most likely the mechanism is jammed up. try pushing the tailgate inwaqrds while using the keyfob, this can often take the pressure off the mechanism. if you cannot hear the electric motor in the hatch then it has most likely failed,you should be able to get into the back and remove the trim to get the hatch open.
