Manual Transmissions don't have dip sticks.

2. Manual gearboxes have a drain and filler plug. The filler plug is usually found in an accessible position on one side of the gearbox which has to be accessed from under the vehicle.

To top up the gearbox the car has to be perfectly level so if you need to add oil to the gearbox you ideally need to get the car up on a garage hoist/lift so you can both access the filler plug easily, remove it and pump in the fresh gear oil. The usual correct oil level on these gearboxes is level with the bottom section of the filler plug opening in the gearbox. However you should check with the proton service staff on the correct procedure for topping up the manual gearbox in your car.

Where is the neutral safety switch on a Proton Savvy please.

I thought to myself, "manual gear boxes don't have a neutral safety switch". The safety is that you have to use the clutch and the gear lever, whereas with an automatic, Park is your brake, if you are in Drive and the engine starts, the car will move forward due to the increased revs on start up. I have searched for 10 minutes using a few search queries and it bears out that one doesn't exist. No parts sold under 'proton savvy neutral safety solenoid' either.

How to check trans.fluid on standard .cant find dip stick.

checking the gear oil on the Manual transmission requires you to get under the car, and about 1/2 to 3/4 way up the side of the transmission, there is an about 1/2" ***** in plug. remove the plug, and stick your finger in the hole. the gear oil should be up to the bottom of that hole to be full. most manual trans use 90 weight gear oil.

92 honda acord standered ,were on the motor do I add oil for the gears? Or do I even have to?

  1. The gears are in the transmission.. you can add oil to the trans if it is low.. Auto trans uses auto trans fluid. There is a dip stick.
  2. Standard trans you must remove a plug in the side of it to check the fluid.
  3. The engine uses motor oil.. you remove the cap that is attached to the top of the motor.. but first check the oil with the dip stick.

I have a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo that I've just bought. I cannot find the transmission dip stick. Where is it located?

Most transmissions didnt have a dip stick. There is a drain plug in the trans pan and another plug higher up in the pan which is the filler plug. Fill until oil trickles out, put plug in loosely, then start and run through gears. Remove fill plug and top up level while engine still running and make shure vehicle is on flat surface when topping up level until oil trickles out fill plug again.
see some similar posts on Jackaroo, Trooper, Rodeo, Frontera all had similar set up, similar trans.

Transmition add gear oil refilling

Automatic? Through the hole where you check the trans fluid (dip stick). Warning: DO NOT OVERFILL!!! Overfill will likely result in damage to the trans and possibly a fire when the oil over heats and runs out of the dip stick hole and falls onto the hot motor.

Manual? There is a hole on the side of the box. Hole is plugged with a 1/2" pipe plug or similar. You will have to pump the 80- or 120 weight oil in as the hole is high on the box and will not allow you top put the container high enough to allow gravitity to assist you with this.

Manual transmissions rarely need oil ... remove the plug and put your finger into the hole. When you take your finger out ... there should be oil on it.

Can't get fluid back into the manual transmission on a 95 escort

where are you trying to put the oil back in as the manual trans does not have a dip stick. on the lower front side there is a filler/level plug. you will need an allen key to remove it. you will need a small plastic bottle with a flexy plastic pipe to put the oil in. Keep topping up until the oil runs back out of the filler hole
