On the right side of the engine near the valve cover
sounds like a fuse is bad for that circuit..check and replace if bad..in an emergency to gain acess to the trunk, remove the back seat by taking the base out first then the back of it..remove the noisebarrier(fiberboard or batting) and the trunk is accessible by a smaller person who can trip the lock from inside manually..good luck and reposr please..
Raise and support vehicle.• Remove right rear wheel housing liner, see Repair Manual Body Exterior Group 66 - Exterior equipment, "Rear wheel housing liner, removing and installing" in ElsaWeb.• Disconnect T-3 electrical connector at Leak Detection Pump (LDP).• Disconnect EVAP purge line, EVAP vacuum Line and EVAP vent line from EVAP canister.
P0496 is not a gas cap, problem is with the purge vent solenoid (on intake manif) or purge vent valve (under car by fuel tank). Most likely the vent valve. Depending on your vehicle/VIN you may be eligible for the 10 year/120k mile warranty Caddy just came out with but is keeping a tight lip on. See bulletin #09205 dated 3-11-2010. Good luck with this!!
