You may be faced with an incorrect key registered to the VATS system.(anti-theft).Your key contains an ohmic chip which must have ohmic resistance that correllates to the VATS module. Your new ignition and key does not jive with the key the VATS is programmed to see, hence no start. Is the VATS module available in the salvage vehicle you obtained the ignition from? Swapping that module would solve the problem otherwise you are faced with reprogramming the new key. There are ways to bypass VATS but it is a fairly sophisticated method but one might find out more by surfing the web concerning VATS bypasses but I have never tried this.good luck

I lost the key for my 2006 ford fusion so i drilled the ignition out in tbe procezz i was beating a screw driver in the igntion and broke the thing that reads the chip then my brother in law comes dancing...

You seem to have very few options. You will need to see a dealer for a replacement ignition. Until then the only way to start the car is to hot wire it and I am not telling you to do so. You could do more damage AND if stopped by the police, they may assume the car is stolen. Better get someone to give you a ride to work.

Trying to start van lost old keys went to junk yard and found ignition with key and also the computer with the transmitter that goes on the ignition Won't start what do t do to get it to start

Most often you need to get the computer reprogrammed. I hate to say this, but it would have been cheaper if you would have just called an automotive locksmith

Window replacement in a 2000 hyundai tiburon?

Had the same problem and the motor is pricey. We went to a junk yard and found the same car and bought the door. We took it to a local small mechanic and he took the one and replaced it to ours. Never had another problem with the window, If you can find the same card in a junk yard it would be the cheapest way. hope that helps.

Dont have key for lugs

Sears automotive use to have the tool to take them off if the lock was lost,It looked like a socket and you just hammered it on then took it off with the impact gun.I have done this myself with a junk socket almost the size and hammer it on and use an air impact gun to remove it.

Rusted crossbar underneath truck near transmission , Where can I find a replacement?

In my 2000 Bravada I went to the Olds/Gm dealer and bought it for $100. I went to junk yard after junk yard to find it but found out that it is very common for that bar to be rusted through. I even had to jack up my transmission just to get it in the correct way. I even went to the local Walmart and bought some undercoating kinda like rino lining. Took a full day to get it sprayed and really covered. The next day I was able to put it in. It is not easy to do but it can be done.

2001 sebring convertible won't start or crank has lights and power but no radio tried #8 fuse but doesn't work

i have the 2.7 as well. mine is in an intrepid. Car was running perfectly fine when i went into bestbuy and when i came out 5 min later i tried to start the car and it would just crank n crank. no start though. eventually it started after lots of cranking. after a couple of times of doing this in order to start the car i would get nothing from the startrer. everything had power and everything electrical worked. found out that if i went under the car and hit the starter with a hammer a couple of times it would finally crank again. but i had to do this every time i shut the car off and wanted to start it again. i loive in WI and its wintyer right now so it really sucked to do this. took it to my buds shop and pulled the starter out and dissected it and found that the (i believe they are "brushes") were ground down to next to nothing, the positive ones, do to constant cranking. was going to get a starter from junk yard for 20 befor i knew what the problem was. did some calling around and found brand new brushes for $20.00. i just got those and installed them and had a good as new starter again. lots of dust to clean out of the housing though. brake fluid and air hose works wonders for that problem. but from best buy on the car would not start without starting fluid if it was at running temp. still yet to solve that one. replaced the cam sensor, crank sensor, plugs, COP's and checked the rest of the sensors. still cant figure this out. anyone have advice let me know what i can check. fuel pump kicks in wen the key turns as well...

Lost keys how do i get new keys? can i get ignition from another car like it at junk yard? locksmith wants more than car worth

As long as they've (junk yard) got keys for it. Check auto parts places, for replacement, or dealer. You want the "ignition lock cylinder". If you need more info on replacing, let me know.
