Rough idle in park and while sitting at the light? cant find ECT sensor or IAC, Tried to reset IAC it would not blink to reset?

When you turn your wheels at idle in park does your rpms pick up ?

How does it idle in park , does it run ruff or smooth? Are any lights lit on the dash , check engine etc. ? Could have a partially plugged IAC air passage .idle air control (IAC) valve ! The engine computer uses the IAC to control idle , when under a load such as when put into gear the computer raises the idle ! It does this by allowing more air to by pass the closed throttle into the engine raising the idle ! If these air passages clog they restrict the air flow an cause a idle problem ! I actually had to replace my EGR valve and the gasket. I clean the valve well and reused both. I don't think the gasket sealed well enough though. So I went ahead and got a new valve, gasket and changed them. It runs a lot smoother now.

Check for codes first. Could be your egr valve is sticking. They get carboned up.

check with timming light to c if jumped timming,it needs to be at least 1000rpms to run right

The idle air control motor (IAC) attaches to the throttle body. It is an electric stepper motor. The PCM adjusts engine idle speed through the idle air control motor to compensate for engine load, coolant temperature or barometric pressure changes. The throttle body has an air bypass passage that provides air for the engine during closed throttle idle. The idle air control motor pintle protrudes into the air bypass passage and regulates airflow through it.
The PCM adjusts engine idle speed by moving the IAC motor pintle in and out of the bypass passage. The adjustments are based on inputs the PCM receives. The inputs are from the throttle position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, MAP sensor, vehicle speed sensor and various switch operations (brake, park/neutral, air conditioning).

Off-idle dashpot Deceleration air flow control A/C compressor load control (also opens the passage slightly before the compressor is engaged so that the engine rpm does not dip down when the compressor engages)

Removal & Installation

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the IAC electrical connector.
3. Remove the IAC mounting screws.
4. Remove the IAC.

To Install:

1. Install the IAC to the throttle body.
2. Tighten mounting screws to 5.1 Nm (45 inch lbs.) torque.
3. Attach electrical connector to the IAC.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.

1. Install the IAC to the throttle body.

A stalling problem doesn't have to turn on the check engine light . Try some basic thing's like cleaning the throttle plate (body) air passages for the IAC - idle air control valve . There are videos on youtube , also check for a vacuum leak !

remove neg. cable from battery so the ECM will reset this may work. make sure the IAC is air tight. if this doen't fix your problem have someone check the IAC valve if it's bad the part runs $300.00 pluse

yea id definately try cleaning ur throttle body 1st. My 03 1500hd had the exact same bad idle after my battery went bad it would die at lights unless i kept foot on gas i cleaned throttle body runs perfect now took 30min cost 8$ for cleaner at autozone and theres how to videos on you tube
