What does it mean when dash light comes on showing a car sliding

If the dash lights do not come on:

The most common cause of this is loose battery connections. The battery is located underneath the driver's seat. Turn the ignition to the on position and slide the driver's seat forward. The battery is concealed with a plastic flap, remove the flap. Check the tightness of the two terminals while looking at the dash, if the dash lights up, then you know what the problem was. ·

If the dash lights are coming on and the vehicle makes no attempt to start:

The most common cause is the starter motor terminals. These can overheat and fuse. This type failure is very sudden and shows no warning signs. The only cure is a replacement starter motor.

My logic says, when it should light when the gearing is in overdrive, the light should say, overdrive ON.
To drive economically you should drive in overdrive when it allows you to.

If it is lit. It is on. It appears on the dash when it is activated.

Yes it is a "service soon" light. It means something is wrong or up. You should have it checked at the dealer or an auto repair shop. :-) If the mileage is around 50,000 or 100,000 miles, the service light will likely come on. I think all cars do this. I think the dealers or the auto repair place can turn it off.

car will not crank, is that it? it must crank to start. so cranking is 1st.

do you have full batteryvoltage. 12.6v at the battery terminals
I waited a few minutes and the dash board lights started coming
that means the battery is dead.
the dash waring lights must come on ,at key on, fast
if not we fix that first. that means power lost, 12vdc power loss.
use a voltmeter. at battery

Most cars and trucks can be re-set by disconnecting the negative batery cable for about 10 minutes...this should auto re-set to factory specs...if the light comes back on, you have wired into the wrong system. Hope this helps.

The traction light only shows when it is turned off. If the traction control wasn't work, the van would show a code aka engine light would come on. Tracation Control only works at speeds below 35 mph.

i think you might mean "od off". that means overdrive for the transmission. the button for that may be on the shifter handle or a button on the center dash board. unless youre towing or need a bit extra power you would generally leave it "on" with no lite on dash

This light comes on to rermind you to service the car ( oil,filters ect ) you can turn this off when you start the car by making sure the odometer is showing ( not the trip meters A or B ) and hold in the reset button for the trip meters and turning the ignition switch all the way forward. When this is done the odometer will start to show dashes and when the dashes are gone the light will be reset.
