Is the door fully closed? If the chimes continues to chime I would check the door switch. Does the inerior light stay on longer than normal? If so the door switch could be bad and the safety circuit is cutting it off before the drains

HOW TO DISABLE DOOR CHIME IN PTCRUISER EITHER REMOVE OR DISABLE CHIME

Make the chime come on and find where it is and just pull it from the receptacle on the wiring harness. There may be a clip holding it in place you must depress or pull out. It wont hurt a thing by doing this. You better get another door key made to keep in your wallet though, for there's nothing to remind you that you're getting ready to lock your keys in the car.

Door chime always on

You have one or more defective door ajar switches inside the door attached to the door latch assembly. This is a common problem and I have replaced at least 100 of them. Most likely it is the drivers door switch that is the problem, but since you must remove the door panel and rear door glass run channel to access the door ajar switch (and then it is still a pain) it is best to have the system read with a scanner to see which switch or switches is acting up. There is no easy way to disable the warning as it is a electronically controlled chime.

The warning chime on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues chiming when the door is closed and the key is in the first position from off. I tow this unit behind a motor home and need to leave the key in...

The chime is active because the sensor on one of the doors keeps reporting it as open - this is a defect in the sensor, located inside the actual lock. You cannot disable the chime, it's an integral part of the Body Control Module. To fix that the door will have to be dismantled and the sensor replaced, a job for a repair shop.
Until you reach one you can disconnect the battery and lock the doors manually.

How do I disable the door chime on my1996 ford taurus gl?

"ding" won't stop

It might be the door chime relay itself that is shorted out. First remove it and see what happens . You should have power to the radio. To properly test it use a voltmeter and hook it up to the door chime terminals , then depress the door switch and see if the voltage droped to zero. If it did then the culprit is the relay if it didn't then its either the switch or you have a short in the system.
