That little hole is called a tel-tale hole, it let's you know when the seal has started to leak, and prevents leaking coolant from entering the bearing..

You will need to replace your coolant pump..

Front passenger floor wet from rain, where is leak at?

Do you have a sunroof or moonroof? If so the problem is going to be in the drain for that sunroof or moonroof. If you open the roof, on either front corner you will see a small circular hole. Take some compressed air and blow it through each of those holes. You may see debris come out of the bottom near the back of your wheel well. Take cup of water and slowly pour that near those holes and make sure it goes through. Usually when that drain is clogged the water from a rain storm will flood into the passenger cabin.

My water coolant is dripping from a small hole situated near the water pump , what is the problem pls

What you are describing is the beginning of water pump failure. That little hole is called the weep hole and if coolant comes out that means the pump is failing.

Hydro lock

If you hydro-locked it,the damage may already be done.Let's hope your'e lucky.Remove the spark plugs, thoroughly drain the oil and refill.Remove the fuel pump relay, then crank the engine.Hopefully, the cylinder that filled with water will force it out through the plug hole(s).Put a few drops of oil down each plug hole, then reinstall the plugs and fuel pump relay.Start it up.You will know right away if there is damage(a bent connecting rod will cause the piston skirt to hit the crankshaft-will make loud noise). If it sounds OK,your'e probably in the clear.

Trying to find ac drain line on 1998 jeep grand cherokee laredo 6 cyl.. water backing up onto pass side floorboards as I guess it's clogged.. please advise.

drain tube located in engine bay, when looking into engine bay drain tube is just above right hand side chassis leg on bulkhead, repair for problem is locate lower casing inside passenger footwell then drill a hole in the centre of the lowest point then poke through with metal coat hanger, note when you drill water will drain in to vehicle collect and throw out then once you clear drain tube plug up hole, hole size required 5mm, lowest point round shape, good luck

I have a BMW 2000 316 Ci that has been using a lot of water. My mechanic had it at the weekend and replaced a hose near the head gasket but it still has the same problem, it however is not overheating

have coolant system pressure test.what they do is pressurize your coolant.about 14 psi look in radiator for bubbles if so you have head gasket leak. or they drain oil out leave drain plug out to see if coolant come out crank case.that also means leaking head gasket or intake gasket.they will look for leaks around radiator +all hoses.look at water pump gasket weep hole.for leaks also check engine core plugs for leaks.they will make sure you have 50% coolant and 50% water .if you have too much water.it will evaporate away.

How to replace a water pump on a 1999 dodge

so i just replaced my water pump today on the same car, mine is a 5.9 magnum. I drained the whole system before i started working on it, next you have to take off the fan, if you look on the inner side of the fan there is a big nut there, in order to loosen that i put to bolts into the holes on the water pump pulley and used a thin screwdriver for leverage, while putting pressure on that, i loosened the nut, be careful not to slip cuz those fan blades are dangerous. but once you have removed that nut from the pulley take out the four bolts holding on the housing, pull the fan and the housing out at the same time. next remove the belt, after that is done, disconnect the hoses from the water pump, there are three, one on each side and one on top. there are a total of eight bolts holding the pump on, keep track of them because they are different sizes. But that is how i removed mine. It was all farely simple i am a girl and i managed to do it so i think you should be fine. Hope it works for you becuase it didnt work for me, i now think that it is my head leaking, if you know anything about that let me know.

Round machined hole in water pump housing leaking coolant

The hole is there to let you know the antifreeze seal in the pump is leaking. You need a new (or rebuilt ) pump installed immediately. Please change the belt and any tensioners while you are at it...
