It is best to call a locksmith, unless you know how to take apart the ignition tumbler and put the assemly locks in the correct order. It sounds like the key tumbler hold in broke and all the tumblers are loose and causing the key to be stuck. If you want to hurry the job for the locksmith and save money, buy the key tumbler assembly for your vehicle for the locksmith to install. Otherwise he will have to make the trip to buy the assembly, which in turn costs you more money. Mechanic shops can replace key tumblers too but when it is stuck in the column, it takes a lot of effort to remove if they are unskilled.
Ignition lock, key or both are worn. After a while you may not be able to turn again. You should have the ignition lock replaced it comes with replacement keys. They will need to reprogram key to your BCM module.

If you have too many keys on your keychain, the extra weight can wear out the key tumblers in the ignition switch. If so, you will need to replace the ignition switch key assembly with a new one.
You have solved your own problem. I have replace many of these units. It is much simpler to carry and extra key than to screw arround with the old lock assembly. Keys and tumblers ware out like everything else. Let me know if I can help[
had the same problem. try to get some graphite powder with the small applicator tube and squirt some in your ignition assembly. sometimes this loosens it up
