Stuck throttle plate . gummed up with varnish or a problem with IAC valve . IAC - idle air control valve ! Videos on youtube , how they work how to clean . Idle Air Control Valve Could have unmetered air entering the engine pass the MAF sensor , a bad MAP sensor ! I would check the throttle plate first , if dirty clean it . Get the IAC valve checked.Remove the Iac valve from the throttle body. It is on the side facing the front higher than the tps sensor. It has a 4 wire connector. Make sure this is clean. If it is dirty/dusty then clean it. This valve controls the idle speed. After cleaning it turn the ignition on with the engine off. The Iac should move in and out to find the stops. If it does not move you have either bad wiring, Iac or pcm. Most likely is Iac. --------For safety measures,before removing the IAC make sure you don't have any vacuum hoses unplugged. Next make sure the throttle blade closes all the way.Iac is short for idle air control valve.-------Thanks.Helpmech.
The IAC valve requires resetting . First locate the IAC valve located on the side of the throttle body and has 4 wires going to it .Procedure is as follows Ignition key on ,unplug the IAC ,turn key off ,reconnect the IAC .do this 3-4 times .restart the car and hold the rpm at 2000 rpm and slowly lower until it idles by it self .
Try to reset the IAC valve on the throttle body it has 4 wires t it . procedure is as follows
turn ignition key on (don't start the engine), unplug the IAC valve, turn the key off, replug the IAC .Do this 3-4 times .Then start the engine while holding the pedal down at about 2000 rpm then let the rpm down slowly till idle. Sometimes the throttle requires cleaning then redo the reset.
