95 Cadillac sts will not hold charge,new battery new alternator?

Intermittent faults are the hardest to diagnose. The only way is to find an auto electrician and his pro grade scan tool computer can record what is happening and what causes it? The first thing I would do is check all the grounds.

Is the alternator charging , with engine running connect a volt meter to battery should show around 14.2 volts , is there a short , remove leads from battery over night , if it starts in the morning there is a short circuit, if the battery is nun down it's faulty even though it's new .

Battery is completely dead. If you have a new battery then I would check your alternator, it may not be charging your battery.

It may be that your alternator isnt charging your battery. have your alternator checked. Also could be that you have dead cells in the battery and battery wont hold a charge. have battery checked also.

check the alternator fuse that can be a fuse link by the battery pole,check alternator voltage on the alternator red wire or connector,it should the same as on the battery ,check ground wires for loose intermitent contact

I had the same problem for about five months, sometimes the car started for two months than all of a sudden it make take anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to get it to turn over. Final analysis (when it finally would not start for two days) a new starter was needed. (2001 Cadillac STS)

CHECK THE FUSE OF THE ALTERNATOR OR CHECK IF THE ALTERNATOR IS CHARGING

alternator does not hold a charge it simply charges the battery by unhooking the battery you are taking all voltage from computer and car will not run the proper way to test your alternator is use a multimeter and check voltage at battery while car is running if you have 13-14 volts it should be fine.
