How do I replace inside door handle passenger side on a 2011 GMC Terrain?

Usually there are screws at the inner door handle cup. Then the rest of the panel is held on with plastic clips. Find them and use a small but wide and flat pry bar and pop them out.take your time so you dont break them. If you do go to a parts stor or hardware and get replacements.

you take off the door panel by using a panel clip tool to pop the clips for the panel to come off also check for any screws holding the panel to the door by the inside door handle the bottoms of the panel once you get it off unplug the window door switches to move the panel out of the way but first lower the window track so you can see it remove the weather seal plastic and then when you can get to the track and the glass you'll see that there should be yellow circle clips that pop together to hold the glass with rivets I'm assuming the glass is broken and this might have come off and is in the bottom of the door use these for the new glass after drilling out the old rivets snap them together one on each side of the new glass and then put bolts and nuts on to tighten or use a rivet gun to the track reconnect the switches for door window power and raise the glass

i replace alot of these at work some times as many as 10 a week.can you tell me your problem. if inside handle dont work remove door panel then you have to drill out rivet in handle then slide foward then disconect lock rod and door latch rod .your ready to replace handle if that your problem.if not you can let me know with a response.also you will need a rivit and a rivet gun to replace the rivet your going to drill out.any questions let me know

Broken inside door handles are a common problem and there is not an easier way of fixing problem.drill out head of rivet with a 3/16 drill bit.Then slide handle assy. from panel.To install new handle attach the two rods you removed .Then slide new handle back into the slots and replace the rivet.

Remove screw from inside door grab handle. Remove door panel by carefully prying out plastic clips. Drill or chisel off pop rivets holding the handle on. Pull handle out far enough to disconnect linkage and remove handle. Install new handle and secure to metal panel with new pop rivets or sheet metal screws. It may be easier to reconnect linkages by removing the metal panel also.

carefully start at bottom of panel & pry away with door open ,but make sure you take any screws out holding on most are in handle area, along with any wire harness connections should be held to door with button rivets (small plastic pressure rings)once all are lose inside panel should lift up off door.

My son and I both have 99 suburbans. We both had exactly the same issue. We found the the latch or handle inside the cab on the drivers side had broken off inside the door. Not a big deal. Go to a site called " Parts Train". You can buy virtually any part for your truck there. Get a new inside door handle, pull the panel and replace it. Not an easy job to getting door panel off or back on, but I guarantee this is the problem. You won't have a problem with the passenger side because it is used less. At Parts Train make sure you order the same color as your old one. Take your time and do a good job and you will have your fix.

The door panel is held onto the door with clips but first you need to remove the screws from the grab handle on the door panel. then pop the bezel off around the inside door handle. very carefully!!! then using a clip tool pry off the peice that covers the rear view mirror nuts and pry gently all the way around the door panel until its loose then lift it up slightly to unseat the window channel strip off the door, then unhook your wires. As for the window roll it up, tape it to the door then line up the 2 10mm bolts that clamp it to the regulator with the provided holes in the door, loosen 'em up roll the regulator down and remove the window. You have to remove the door panel, if you have roll down windows the handle will have to be removed. After panel is removed you have to drill the one rivet that hols the interior handle. slide the handle down and unfasten the rod retaining clip. Please make sure you do not break the clip. Install the new interior door handle, clip and provided fasteners. Try the door before you install the interior door panel, Note the is a good time to lube the window roller and the door mechanism. Make sure to install the water shield to provide the protecting from the elements. Line all the plastic retaining clips and or replace if they are broken. Good Luck.

VERY common issue.. the handle being replaced is ok.. but the actual metal rod that connects it to the latch needs bent a little to make it more responsive, what happens is over time this rod (which is bent slightly) will straighten, and the operator pulls harder on the handle which eventually brakes.. then replacing the handle will solve it for a while, until the trend repeats itself... VERY common, I have fixed hundreds in the shop so far...
