2010CADILLAC NO POWER CODP0016

DTC P0016: Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation

The engine control module (ECM) uses the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor information to monitor the correlation between the crankshaft and intake camshaft position.

Diagnostic Aids
Inspect the engine for any recent engine mechanical repairs. An incorrectly installed camshaft, crankshaft, or timing chain can cause this DTC to set.

Circuit/System Testing
Inspect for an incorrectly installed timing chain, excessive play in the timing chain, or for a timing chain that jumped teeth. Refer to Camshaft Timing Drive Chain Alignment Diagram and Camshaft Timing Drive Components Cleaning and Inspection .

Can jump starting a battery w/the chk eng light on cause a 97 5. Mrcry Mtnr computer to not reset for a smog check?

No . With the check engine light on there is probably a DTC diagnostic trouble code stored in the computer . Have code read ,diagnose and repair problem . Suggest you take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop and have if fixed right .

2007chevy,hhr started missing extremely bad , then overheated when I crank the engine no compression friend of my coded 016 and 017 ? jumped time or better yet probably broken chain ! Any ideas ?

DTC P0017: Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation
DTC P0016: Crankshaft Position (CKP) - Intake Camshaft Position (CMP) Correlation
Pull the valve cover off then turn engine by hand , socket on crank pulley an 1/2 breaker bar . Or you will be able to pull the chain up , if broken . Or even better yet pull the oil cap an spin engine , does the cam move .

Why is malfuntion light on

The most probable bad fuel. But first of all you need to access the Engine Control Module (ECM) using suitable diagnostic equipment (VAS, VAG-COM or similar) connected to the data link connector of the car, in order to pull out all DTC's memored. DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code. Then you will bu full informed about the root cause of the problem, and you will be able to repair & replace bad pieces and reset the ECM. Then the yellow warning light will turn OFF, and the engine will run normally.

O/d light blinks when driveing o/d seems to be engaged car has 198000 miles and runs very good also engine light is on

O/D light blinks, but with that the check engine light is ON.--- This will make your troubleshooting easier. When the check engine light comes on, and remains on, this indicates that there is error stored in your cars computer.---- Once the computer is scanned, you will get error codes, as per that error code it will point towards faulty part, which is causing the O/D light to blink.-------- Most probably the O/D light blinks, If a problem exists in No. 1 or No. 2 solenoids or speed sensors .
--------------- For car after 1995 it requires OBD2 tool and for car before 1995 it requires OBD1 tool.------- --------- You car will require OBD1 tool. There are very few auto parts store and repair centers who have OBD1 tool.In your case you required OBD1 tool.------ You can just contact local auto-parts store and they will guide you to the nearest store who has OBD1 tool. There you can get your car scanned. If there is error set in your cars computer, then you will receive the error code.As per error code it will point towards the faulty part causing this problem in your car.------------- -------------- The codes which you get is scanning will be mostly any of this following codes:--- DTC P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction
. DTC P0750 - Shift Solenoid "A" Malfunction
. DTC P0753 - Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical Malfunction
. DTC P0755 - Shift Solenoid "B" Malfunction
. DTC P0758 - Shift Solenoid "B" Electrical Malfunction
. DTC P0770 - Shift Solenoid "E" (SL) Malfunction
. DTC P0773 - Shift Solenoid "E" (SL) Electrical Malfunction
. DTC P1520 - Stop Light Switch Signal Malfunction
. DTC P1705 - Direct Clutch Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction
. DTC P1765 - Shift Solenoid Valve SLN Circuit Malfunction
. DTC P1780 - Park/Neutral Position Switch Malfunction
--------------- Now it all depends on what code you get, as per that you can replace the following part.------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Blinking engine light not the plugs. Is it the timing belt ZTS zetec engine

Generally speaking when the check engine light blinks that means that there is a direct threat of catalytic converter damage. This is generally caused by a dead miss in the engine or bad spark timing, with out having a DTC I cannot specifically say what the problem maybe. However the timing belt wouldn't be a bad place to start, it may have jumped a few teeth and caused a misalignment in the cam timing.

SMALL PROBLEM ROUGH IDLE.SMALL VIBRATION WITH MOTOR-DASHBOARD MAKES VIBRATION SOUND. 2003 NEON HAS 130,000 MILES BUT FEELS LIKE IT RUNS COLD ALL THE TIME.WHEN IT FINALLY WARMS UP IT RUNS KINDA BETTER BUT...

You need to find out what DTC the vehicle sets when the check engine light comes on. This will help you diagnose the problem. The engine is misfiring causing the rough running concern and probably the vibration in the dash. The DTC will tell you what specific cylinder the misfire is in P0300-304 or if the fuel is metering too lean P0171. Then you can check the appropriate system for a fault. you'll need to get a generic OBD2 code puller (local parts stores sells these things). let me know what specific DTC's you pull and I'll see if I can help you further.
