SOURCE: The brake lights on my car stay on even when you

Assuming there is nothing wrong with the Brakes, and that the Brake Pedal does not have the "play" you describe:
There is a Push Brake Light Switch located up behind the Brake Pedal Arm. It is a Push actuated with a Plunger being pushed in activating the Brake Lights.
Follow the Brake Pedal Arm up into behind the Dash. The Switch is adjustable and removable. There are two nuts on this Switch, holding and securing the Switch to a bracket. The Switch itself screws in/out of the bracket after the nuts have been loosened.
Unplug the Switch.
The nuts need to be loosened.
The Switch in your case will need to be unscrewed out of the bracket moving the Plunger away from the Brake Pedal Arm.
In some cases this Plunger is already all the way OUT (with it plugged back in) and the Brake Lights will stay on. In this case the Switch has to be replaced. It will also need to be replaced if the plunger is stuck in the "in" position. The Plunger is retrned to the "out" position by a spring, which maybe malfunctioning.
WITH a helper looking at the Brake Lights and the Switch plugged back in:
Adjust (screw out) the Switch in the Bracket so that the Brake lights to go out. Again if the adjustment does not solve it, remove and replace this Switch.
Once that adjustment is complete, turn the locking nuts on the Switch - securing it in place.
This Switch is available at Autozone Part #80172 for about $15.

MY TAIL LIGHTS STAY ON.EVEN WITH IGNITION IS OFF.HOW DO I FIX THAT?

Brett,

Likely it is a brake light that is on. Brake lights can actuate with the ignition off, usually by pressing the brake pedal. Test the lights, brake and turn signal circuits, but my bet is a brake light switch out of adjustment.

What goes wrong with abs brake module in 99 dodge ram 2500 diesel truck

It isn't often we get enough information to make a diagnosis, but I think we can in this case.
You have a break light switch under the dashboard that is plastic, and has a "plunger" button.
When you press the brake pedal, that allows the plunger button to extend, which closes contacts inside the switch, and makes the brake lights come on.
If and when that switch either breaks or gets loose, the plunger will stay extended, and the brake lights will stay on, discharging the battery.
God bless your efforts to see & fix this.

Brake lights staying on

bad earth or the wrong bulb in the back lights but to answer correctly i would need to know the type of lighting system used and make and model of car ,as american cars do not have a seperate indicator but the brake light flashes .Your ECM is ok and whoever told you it was faulty is not a proper mechanic ,iam sure you have the wrong bulb in ,like a single pole instead of a twin pole bulb .

My brake lights in 1995 honda prelude wont turn off even when the cars off, i have to dislocate the negative on my battery every time i park it. and my dash where the gas gage and temp gage are also wont...

U may have a faulty "brake lamp switch" normally located under your brake pedal, that's probably the cause of brake lights staying on. Check your fuses,,could be blown

When I turn my lights on, the brake lights stay on even the third brake light. When I turn the lights off and hit the brake pedal the dash lights come on.

ck the bulbs, have any bulbs been replaced recently, could have the wrong bulb installed in the brake light socket.

2000 chevy cavalier ABS and Brake lights staying on

You had it scanned? They didn't find any codes? If there were no codes, did the ABS computer even communicate? Also did you check the brake fluid, most newer cars have a float switch in the master. If the fluid is low that will set off the lights.
