2002 Hyundai Sante Fe-replaced the starter but car will not start unless i move the transmission through the gears several times and then it has started only twice. thanks

The car has been running great but started having problems getting started..it would just not turn over..no clicking, etc..replaced battery and starter..was able to start it twice but only after moving the shifter several times..should i replace the neutral safety switch? If so where is it? or the ignition switch?

I don't know Hyundai but that does sound like the Neutral safety switch. Will it start with the shifter in neutral?

2002 hyundai sante fe cvt transmission problems

As far as I know the 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe did NOT have a CVT transmission, rather a 4 speed automatic. Mine went well over 300,000 miles (see photo) with original trans and engine.

Gears were hard to shift until car warmed up. 2002 hyuandi sante fe now car wont move only a few minutes and then stops again. Can i still add transmission to see if this was problem?

When you drive, after a while the fluid will heat up and be more water like and will be easier to move through gears, After reading your problem with the car stoping it is hard for me to say wheather it is somthing in the transmission or if its a cracked pistion. i wish i could help but im only a mechanic to veicles under the year 2000, and to be honest i dont even know what it would be on an older veicle. i hope you find the problem and get it all fixed. Have 2002 sante fe just recently had new transmission installed new battery but today its very cold out car started up ok but noticed for the first 15 minutes my brake light and battery light stayed on...

cold can play hell with electronics. if it happens again (provided the battery is the proper one for that vehicle) hit the accelerator and see if the lights go out. sometimes just a good warm up will rectify the issue. happy holidays

Hyundai Sante FE starting problems after changing the transmission

What kind of problems? No Crank or Cranks but wont Run? What have you checked? Have you checked all the connections that you had apart? have you checked all ground wires? Especially the ground wire from the battery to the eng/ trans.
