The first thing I have to ask you is When was the last time the transmission was serviced? Transmission fluid and filter change?
A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you. Have a GREAT DAY and GOD BLESS YOU.

Nobody can answer that. There are lots a variables. How well do you maintain it. How many of those miles are highway miles. What climate do you live in? Sorry I wish I could help more. The 3.8 Series 2 engines usually last a long time if well maintained.
Well, before a positive for sure answer can be given, a few questions need to be answered to aid in the diagnosis... 1.)when was your last tune up? 2.) When did your car first start over heating,(ie) did it happen all of a sudden or slowly over time (meaning days, months)? 3.)How many miles does your car have on it? 4.) Have you noticed a small or large puddle under your vehicle lately? 5.) have you had your fluids checked lately? 6.) have you had your smog equipment, 02 sensors, converter, exhaust, etc. checked at its regular interval? All of these questions are important and I probably forgot a few that any normal mechanic would ask but these are the ones that I could trust in to give you a good answer.
