On the O7 Model, that's a common stock issue. Interior problems with them are more common. Something to do with the way they were originally attached. Handles can come off very easy. The dealers will tell you they have to order "a whole panel piece" that includes the handle. For the Exterior Handle, I would try opening up the panel yourself to inspect the unit to see if something was broken inside or if maybe it just needs tightening. If it's the Interior Handle, sometimes you just need a mount clip replaced because it comes as a panel piece, all inclusive.
If it's the exterior handle and you are out of warranty, it gets a bit pricey so I would check online for replacements if you have a damaged one. For an amateur repair person, it can take a while. Check www.autopartswarehouse.com
For the Interior, another common problem is that the "Silver" Film on the handle comes off easily on some and begins to create "paper-like" cuts on your fingers. Check the clips on the mount panel and if necessary replace the unit. You might be able to just get the clips for Under $10.
The replacements can be much better with No sharp mold flash on them.
P/Ns are 15935951 & 15935954. Check to see which one applies to yours.
That one applies to the 07 with heated seats, which I'm assuming you probably have.
Hope that helps. Good Luck.
SOURCE: 2007 chevy Tahoe, 4 new rotors, and pads, how much
depending on the quality of the parts, i would say 400-600 dollars. maybe a little more. depending on labor costs
SOURCE: How much is it to
Fix is very vague - new pads? Usually $60 for the premium pads plus $50-60 for laber.
If the rotors need to be turned (I always recommend when replacing pads) usually $8-$10 to turn each rotor.
So, to add it all up, you'll spend around $125-$150 for a rear brake job. A part time handyman/mechanic could do it for less than a hundred.
