The unit is just a battery with connectors and it is only as good as the battery or batteries inside it. In the cheaper units the batteries are not going to last very long.

Batteries commonly fail and will not hold a charge and that is most likely the problem with your unit.

I have the same problem but after taking it apart the plug-in seems to not be working when amp meter was put on it , but after using same amp meter reader on the battery it showed the battery dies work now off to buy the plug in that doesn't seem to be getting a charge when plugged in.

It sounds like the internal battery has failed. A quick search and it appears to be a known issue.

Uninterruptable power supplies for computers do the same. I have one in my garage, and the replacement costs a fortune!

Case 580 super l backhoe alternator won't charge although alternator repair shop said it is ok

not charging can be the regulator not working, broken charge circuit wires
take it to an accredited auto electrical shop and have the out put voltage tested for dc voltage , not ac voltage
may have blown a diode in the rectifier on installation

Where is plug in to charge battery

If you mean to charge battery of a smartphone, a tablet or some similar device, you pug it in the cigarette lighter slot.
If you mean your car's battery, you can't properly "plug" it. you need a car battery charger.

Have a 1991 Buick regal,it stops charging wen I plug in temp/fuel gauge into the cluster, why would it do that?

Does it stop charging or the light just comes on/gauge goes down? Plug it in and check if the alternator is putting out 13+ volts. It could be a short in the cluster or the wire from the alternator.

Where do I plug in the cord to start charging the jump starter (Black & amp; Sage ) 900 peak ,350

Google for an owner's manual. I can't find anything on this jump starter, but first they need to be charged, usually by plugging into a wall socket for 12-24 hours. Then plug into the cigarette lighter for 10 min or so to give the car battery a boost charge.

I have a car booster pack that when plugged in to the wall it shows it is charging, but when you check on charge status it has not charged at all. What could be wrong with it?

Those things are like a little garden tractor battery inside
If it went dead over time and got frozen the battery may
be bad ,whey don't seem to do well unless used often.

I have 1988 camaro i-roc it had a v-6 in in it some one change it over to 350 can,t get it to charge can you help think sam

the alternator wiring is the same for both engines.make sure you have power on the large red wire at the alternator and the plug connector is clean and tight for the 2 wire plug for the regulator.it should have a small wire from the battery wire to this 2 wire plug and the brown wire is generally used to put out the light on the dash when its charging.next there is a D shaped hole on the back of the alternator that you can insert a metal cotter pin into until you feel a tab and ground the tab with the cotter pin by touching the pin to the alternator case and the charging system should start to charge.use a volt meter to check the voltage.if it doesn`t charge when you do this or you don`t hear the charging system start to charge then the voltage regulator is not working and needs replacing.

My son plugged his computer into my power plug to keep it charged and now it will charge my cell phone

Does the plug still work at all? check the fuses listed in your owners manual. You may have just blown a fuse, other wise your plug may have a loose wire or bad connection.
