I own a 1998 Chevy Lumina, took it to Advance Auto. I know what one code is what does code P0341 mean and how can it be fixed?

P0341 is: camshaft position sensor A circuit range/performance (bank1 or single sensor)

The P0171 co is probably the one that is causing the misfire. It's a lean code meaning the engine is not getting enough fuel. This can cause a condition known as lean misfire and cause the misfire code. A vacuum leak is a possibility as well as a bad MAF sensor or even poor fuel pressure. The p0341 code is a code for the cam sensor. Typically this will not cause any issues other than the code.

Do you have a service engine soon light? How many miles on vehicle. Could be a sensor of some type, or timing. You have a module under your coil packs that may be bad also. If you can get the car to advance auto, oriellys or autozone; they will diagnose it for FREE, and let you know what the problem is.

Just because you have a code for that sensor it doesn't mean the sensor is defective and in this case it is seldom the cause of the code. See your local dealer for diagnosis and testing before replacing any parts. Never listen to parts persons about diagnostic code fixes, they know nothing about the system.

Hi, p0341 is cam shaft sensor. replace sensor that should fix your problem.

It comes up as a transmission component slipping.

Auto Zone usually has a diagram on there computer ...showing all the springs etc. to re-assemble a drum break .

Door mirrors on chevrolets tend to be model and year specific. the auto recycler can tell you for sure since most carry a book which shows what parts will interchange with what car.

You will need to drop the tank if you have a strong gas odor. Rubber line between sending unit and metal pipe is leaking.

Ok, that would not have caused the light to come on. The next thing you will want to do is to make certain all modules are communicating on the bus. If any of the modules connected to the SIR system are off the bus, the light will set. Also get the codes pulled. Im not certain what diagnostic tool was used, but if the software is old and is out of date it may not be able to read codes. You can go to your local Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts and they will pull the codes for free. Write the codes down and let me know what they are and we can begin.
