CarGurusDec 17, 2009 - 4 wheel drive does not work - When I put the Sub in 4 wheel drive, low of high ... I want to "add" 4 wheel drive to my 95 1500 suburban w/ a 350.
CarGurusJul 15, 2014 - My 4 wheel drive stopped working - After struggling with the 4 wheel drive ... sometimes in low sometimes in high, now it doesn't engage at all.
Something you can do is to tap the 4/4 motor under drivers side on the back of transfer case with key on engine off. Have someone work the buttons as you gently tap the motor. Don't hit so hard as to dent it. Usually works.
Sounds some what like a transfer case problem. Call up some tranny shops or the one u went to and see if they would do a free diagnostic just to be sure.
Smetimes these can be difficult to get out of 4 low. Put the vehicle in neutral and the switch in 2 wheel drive. Give it a minute to shift. If it doesn`t move the vehicle about an inch and try it again. I had an 03 dakota and an 02 durango and they were both like this.
