While trying to start my 2008 saturn vue, the key turns but nothing happens and then it locks up the ignition, no power to electrical system either.

You have a wheel sensor failed. Likely on the left rear. I have an 08 Saturn Vue and mine has failed repeatedly. First time Jan 09, then again Jan 10.. and once again in Jan 11. Finally dealt with GM Customer Service, as dealer just keeps replacing the sensor. They claim corrosion. GM CS told them to investigate further, so they replaced a connector and sensor this time. Not holding my breath. Thank god for warranty. Will probably end up getting rid of the car.

check a SATURN dealer for the part number, if your vehicle was not equipped with it from the factory, you will have to go aftermarket.

It shoulds still be under warranty,so why spend $600
for one.
