could be worn drive belts, try sprayin the alternator etc drive belt with wd40 before starting and see if no screaming ,if no sctreaming change belts, as these are never changed at the requried intervals
Possible that the PUMP is not active or working to the desired level . It can also be due to air within the hydraulic system and will require a reset on the unit. Make sure that the belt is not slipping on the pulley .
sounds like the pump is going out, check fluid, check belt, usually when u have to run at high rpm like that sounds like the pump is weak, higher rpms turns pump faster making fluid run through quicker, slower rpm fluid not pumping enough fluid to keep pump working, i believe you need power steering pump, if it goes ot while driving, it would be like driving a car from the 40 or 50s. hard to turn, you may even cause a wreck, you could get hurt or somebody else
Your power streering works with a hydaulic pump driven by the engine belt, check the belt and pump.
Your power brakes works using engine vacuum, check for vaccum leaks from tubes that come form the engine intake plenum.
Do you know enough about your engine to be able to tell me if it looks like the power steering belt is separate from other belts or is it part of the main serpentine belt? If it's not the belt, check the power steering fluid. Look for red colored fluid, or sometimes clear colored fluid leaks under the car. It could be a blown hose, loose fitting leak, bad PS pump, or a missing belt. Please let me know what you find. Thanks.
is the fluid circulating well , you could see it through the power steering fuel level after removing the rod , if not then you got proplems with the pump ,if the fluid is circulating the the rack and union pistons may have ruined
