The eml light can only be reset at a garage with either an audi supplied diagnostic tester(5051,5052b)or a garage that has VAG com.(a diagnostic software)the latter is usually the cheapest, some audi independent garages have VAG com.

Take off engine management asap as driving test in less than six hours ,,x

air bag light will not reset until its fixed. but yellow EML will go out providing there is no major fault with the engine. other wise light will return.

Is this a diesel? If it is check the fuel filter. If it is a gas burner, check the air flow(air filter, and filter box)for a plastic bag or paper sack sucked up in the intake duct.If this checks out fine ,have the cat.checked to see if it is stopped up.

Eml light.. loss of power

Hi
Air flow sensor could be a problem.
Every time EML comes on the car computer will put the system into limp mode. To avoid any further damage to the engine.

once switch off, isolated and re-start will re-run the program and clear it temporary.
Ideally you need to get the car plugged in to a Diagnostic computer and see what fault code are stored.

Thanks

My 2003 Cavalier would sputter and not kick over. After a few tries, it eventually kicked and ran fine the rest of the day. The following day it died again. After checking that it was not the battery, AND...

IT'S NOT POSSIBLE FOR AN AIR BAG PROBLEM TO KEEP AN ENGINE FROM STARTING. IT QUITE POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO HAVE A SECURITY PROBLEM AS IT WILL SHUT DOWN THE FUEL PUMP. WATCH THE SECURITY LIGHT TO SEE IF IT STAYS ON SOLID OR FLASHES WHEN THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. DON'T GIVE UP YOUR 800 BUCKS UNLESS THEY CAN PROVE TO YOU THAT YOU DEFINITELY HAVE AN AIR BAG PROBLEM. YOU SHOULD HAVE A LIGHT ON FOR THAT ALSO.

EML light went on. What is this?

Engine Management Light, same as a Check Engine Light... simply means a sensor component on your vehicle is malfunctioning You'll need to have someone with a tester to run diagnostics and retrieve codes to find exactly what the culprit is. Don't be surprised if it's the Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS), common problem on BMWs

The ABS and air-bag light are permanently on and a warning light

kenchyke, the shop may have disabled the air bag system to work on the car, and possibly forgot to activate it again. While this seems a bit odd to me that they could overlook this but, since it started after the work was done, you need to return it to the shop asap to have them check it out. Although the car runs fine, the abs system and the air bags won't operate, which could result in injury if you are in an accident (air bag will not deploy, abs probably disconnected).
